I thought it`s a review not just another Q what`s better :(
Well bout lapping - TT has horrible stock base finish - lapping IS required. Don`t know how Tunig looks.

Tuniq is also very rough on the base.
I do believe the Tuniq will win of course.. It's a much bigger cooler.

I'd question any review that shows a big typhoon outperformed by a Zalman.

Yeah that's possible.. I don't know if those results are correct.. All I do is read the review and make up my mind on how I think they tested and if it was reasonable.. and the review looks okey.. and xbitlabs.com are good folks.. Anyways I still think the Tuniq is better.

For some reason xbit stick the system in an envioronment at 30C and so it might be that the BT has reached saturation point. Why they do not use ambient of 20C which is room temperture is a puzzle....

My little review. (http://forum.abit-usa.com/showthread.php?t=103462)
It's got pics of the bottoms of the heatsinks I bought. The Tuniq was worse finished than the BT. And what I considered lapped (see my XP-120). Still, I've only ever gotten 1-2c better at most from lapping.
There are so many variables on performance. What bothers me most about the Tuniq is that its orientation will vary--On one review it was pretty much touching the video card and obviously starved for intake air. One poster requested that I repeat all my testing within a standard case--I laughed at that one.
Taking the Tuniq fan and putting it atop the BT equalized their performance, in my open air testing.
Right now, on my main system I'm running the BT with a Panaflo m1a (38mm thick), somewhere about 8V--something that obviously cannot be done with the Tuniq Tower.
