ASRock have made it again :D

As you see this cheapo supports FSB up to 1066 and should support Conroe with new rev.2.0. Still no clarification on release date.

http://www.asrock.com/product/775i65GV.htm No mention on the site. That would be hilarious though. The picture does look photoshopped though.

I doubt the VRM is up to spec with Conroe. Same rumor happened when P-D was coming out, and it didn't work.

Well if you guys just check asrock website you`d notice that every mobo has printed labels of supported CPUs on`em

but not the core names themselves. I don't see any "Venice SanDiego Toledo Manchester" printed on a 939dual.

Well I think you haven`t searched
Here`s (http://www.ixbt.com/mainboard/asrock/939s56-m/board.jpg) 939 from asrock and it`s clearly says dual-core. It`s not necessary to write K8 core names cos any mobo supports`em - except for dual-cores.
But for Intel`s it`s different story - I thought you knew already that any new core from Intel needed new chipset. And to make it simple for customers asrock just applied all compatible cores` names on the board

look at my link, it says Presler on the board. It would not suprise me if Asrock got it working, they only recently revised this board for Presler so they may have premptively made it compatible with Conroe as well. The pic in the first link looks very photoshopped though.

Here`s old revision of this board - Presler compatible and only 800MHz FSB

Conroe draws less than Northwoods and that's still 4 phase power with pretty big chokes.

It's not about the amount of power.

The webmaster of OCW says that this info comes straight from ASRock. He claims that there will be an actual rev. 2 of this board that supports Conroe.
