Anyone else checked this out? ( http://bb4win.sourceforge.net/bblean/ )

If you use linux you've probably heard of BB before, but I didn't notice until a couple days ago that it has been done for windows as well.

If you have no idea waht I'm talking about, check it out, take the time to figure it out. Pretty sweet (IMHO) shell and it allows for a much more personalized feel to the O/S and personally, I find it is SO much faster for multi-tasking, managing workspace(s) and applications. Give her a whirl.

If you're already using it, what plugins do you like or what are you doing with yours?

I used this a while back actually, haven't really looked at it for ages. I just have a desktop skin at the moment but this reminded me to go back and have a look. Maybe once my new system is built I'll have a look because it will handle a crap load more.

If theres an easy way to un-install it I'd try it out.

Does it fk with anything?

What is it just a GUI skin for XP?

interesting OS nn.. I will have to try it sometime.

You should include a disclaimer saying that you need a valid copy of windows to download that or else its illegal to posses it.

Did it help with the Memory that XP uses or help with SuperPI?

You n00bs!

It isn't a skin, and doesn't need to be installed or uninstalled, it's a shell that replaces explorer.exe. In terms of looks, it is completely open to be played with, so if you don't like it, you can change absolutely any aspect of it. This thread was clearly a waste of time though.

In terms of superpi times, I don't run BB or Explorer while running superpi, so it's no different.

It is superior to the 13 year old Pooh explorer that all windows users are using, there's no doubting that, but it takes time to play with. I have 1900 skins for my BB, and hundreds of plugins, but again, if you want easy and effortless, run windows explorer and I highly recommend the "Olive" theme, definitely the sexiest of it's whopping 3 themes.

ROFL @ the guy who thought it was a skin. Go get a mac, mouse lover.

yet for some reason it doesn't want to play nicely with .avi Backrounds, more accurately at all.. Fluxbox is a nice look and all but I'm more of a enlightenment guy..

^ Fluxbox wtfpwns BB4win, but it's the 4win part that I was surprised to see, and mostly impressed with. Old news, but I figure I have wasted 2.5 years of computing in Windows without it.

Why don't you try something far more advanced.. like the Noob Friendly BSD in my sig.

I've dabbled in many different "advanced" but I just don't care until they can run modern games. I was most impressed with SuSe 9.3 or Slackware10, but again, linux/BSD/everthing is worthless to me if it doesn't run Oblivion/Far Cry/whatever I play, it's just gonna be used as a proxy or a pornbox.

Like trekkies or elvis fans, the linux king of XS has arrived to settle for good and all that the O/S he uses is more important than the topic of this thread.

Please lord, forgive me for using the L word in here. Please admins, delete this thread and banish the DOS-loving h4x0rs of old from it evermore.
