Me and Fugger have been working to integrate wikihardware.com to the XS Forums.
For those who don't know what a wiki is. It's basically just a database of information where anyone can edit. Wikihardware is basically a wiki for any hardware related information.
At the moment, the integration works like this. A user can only edit pages on Wikihardware if they have registered at XS. Any existing user on XS can logon to Wikihardware with their credentials (on the first login to wikihardware, you are "registering" an account on wikihardware). This will possibly rid the wiki of unneccessary spamming/vandalism from random users.
Hopefully, WH will continue to expand the XS community and offer the overclocking community a great resource.
We are still having troubles since the new server move (as you can see, you can't log on Wikihardware yet), but any suggestions/comments/ideas on how the wiki should be organised..etc will be appreciated.

I think, in the user profile (or on the popup menu that appears when you click usernames next to posts), there should be a "View WikiHardware Contributions" link. And, maybe replace the standard vBulletin user profile with the Wiki User:Username type page which would allow much more customisable profile pages.

Should be very helpful for teaching noobs.. take alot of work to cover everything.

Is the website active yet? "XS Forum Members can login to this wiki with their forum credentials", but it won't let me in, I also get SQL errors on the page with Firefox.
"Warning: mysql_select_db(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/xassius/public_html/wiki/AuthPlugin_vBulletin.php on line 29"
"Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client in /home/xassius/public_html/wiki/AuthPlugin_vBulletin.php on line 28"
Awesome idea btw.

:fact: Plus, SQL is serverside, browser choice should not affect SQL errors.

Fantastic idea. As long as we all chip in, we should have far less questions like "what is the delta?" etc.

It could replace those "DDR2 D9 Chip Lists"...etc too. Then the first post doesn't need to be edited everytime someone makes a contribution. Instead, they can just go to the wiki :)
Nice suggestion masterofpuppets.

this is a perfect example of why a Wikihardware is needed. This guy has some fairly reasonable questions, and ultimately, there is no one place he can go to look them up. He either has to google, or hope someone knowledgeable has the time/energy to make a bit post.
Bring on the wikihardware as fast as poss i say.

It's free for all now. Everyone can start/edit articles if they want to WITHOUT logging in (while we solve the log in problems).
Since the wiki is still very small and not very well known, I'd doubt vandalism would be a problem (hey, it's XS...right? :) :p: ).
Start writing! (at the moment, there's some really out of date articles in there. But those were just for tests).

Just a heads up to everyone. You can now view ALL the articles in the wiki through this link (http://www.wikihardware.com/wiki/index.php?title=Special:Allpages)
Kudos to the person who submitted the CPU Cache and the Cache article.
Other interesting articles which have been created in the last few days are:
[[Intel]] (http://www.wikihardware.com/wiki/index.php?title=Intel)
[[7950GX2]] (http://www.wikihardware.com/wiki/index.php?title=7950GX2)
[[Hypertransport 3.0]] (http://www.wikihardware.com/wiki/index.php?title=Hypertransport 3.0)
[[Fugger]] (http://www.wikihardware.com/wiki/index.php?title=Fugger) :D :D :D
Articles started are:
[[OCZ]] (http://www.wikihardware.com/wiki/index.php?title=OCZ)
[[GSkill]] (http://www.wikihardware.com/wiki/index.php?title=GSkill)
Hope you guys can chip in on those articles, and maybe start the [[AMD]] page :p:

I have been very busy the last few weeks....but a few articles have been added (e.g. CPU-Z, CPUID, Perfmonitor, Ageia, Aquamark)...but the best one over the last week has been the
A64 Overclocking Guide (for noobs :P)
http://www.wikihardware.com/wiki/index.php?title=Overclocking_A64_Processors
I also have setup a Community Portal on the wiki (so I don't have to spam the XS forums everytime I wanna make a plug to the wiki :slap: ) purely for discussing about progress on different articles and stuff.
