Hey!
I just got my X1900XTX yesterday and I really don't notice much difference compared to 7800GTX 256 (apart from HQ AF on the ATI card is much better and there's less noticeable texture shimmering). Anyway, I must say I'm really disappointed that I can't get HDR+AA to work in Lineage II (L2). Is this impossible even on ATI hardware (ie they use some other method apart from FP16 HDR) or has anyone else managed to do HDR+AA? Does anyone know anything about this?
HDR+AA was the main reason I got X1900XTX instead of 7900GTX SLI (yes, SLI).
Many thanks!

Hmm, I am not that knowledgable on that AA+HDR thing.. but I don't think it's possible with just any game out there.
In the case of Lineage II, I have to say that the HDR is not even that well done. AA makes a far better difference than enabling HDR does.

Well, I love the extra light reflection on my Dark Elf's thong-clad bottom the HDR+AA yields. It looks darn hot and sexy! :slobber:
Anyway, ATI latest card generation X1xxx all support HDR+AA (or rather, FP16 Blend HDR+AA) by hardware (it's not a cheap driver trick), while nVidia's 7 gen cards don't. However, I can't get HDR+AA to work in L2 and it really bothers me. She's not as sexy without that glossy butt.

HDR + AA has to be supported by the game for it to work or in the case of games like Oblivion, a patch must be created. However, the creator of the HDR+AA patch for Oblivioni stated that his driver "fix" will be incorporated into future ATi drivers that will have profiles for various games that have HDR but lack HDR+AA so you can enable it. Try using the "chuck" drivers for Lineage II by renaming the lineage.exe file to oblivion.exe and see what happens.

Game executable won't start if renamed to Oblivion.exe. It just says "game files corrupted" and aborts.
