Cool. Guess it's time I give Opera another try... it's been a few years. :D

I used an Opera 9 public alpha a while back, using 8.5 now. Guess it's time to upgrade :)

Huh, upgraded but it hasn't actually done anything. Odd.
EDIT: D'oh, it tried putting the upgrade in a different directory to my old installation. Working now :)

I've never used Opera. How is it compared to FF in terms of speed most of all, but also in security, plug-in and extension community, etc?

Opera has always slaughtered my companies page(even this new beta). FF screws up some pages as well but never had CSS issues with it. Just certain plugins not working. Having to browse a really screwy version of my companies homepage sort of kills opera for me. Otherwise Id probably go with Opera over FF too :(

opera kills some webpages as they were not tested for it, but for most everything except for IE designed plugin pages, it works way better than any other browser.
its faster than every other browser (for windows)
its more secure than any other browser. (for windows)

It performs pretty well but it does put more strain on the systems then FF or IE

Opera 9 is one of the only browsers to pass Acid2. Firefox and IE fail miserably in Acid2. If a page isn't rendered in Opera 9 properly, it isn't coded properly:rolleyes:

atleast not to HTML/PHP, etc standards.. When websites do funky stuff that web langauges werent realy ment to do, then opera usually fails on it. But pretty much every large website that is coded properly works on Opera.
and the nice thing about it is that all the ways that websites try to mess with your browsing experience fail 99% of the time with opera and you dont even know they are there.
One website I went to all the time with Opera seemed all fine and dandy. no malware or anything. Sent a link to my friend who opened it up in IE and it nearly killed his OS..
