What chips does this ram use? and what kind of overclocking potential should i expect i know that ymmv but overall what kind of performance could i expect from it on an Asus mobo wit ha dual core which im koping to run at >300x9. Also do asus mobos still have the 1t problem at more than 240fsb or has this been fixed?

samsung UCCC

i wouldn't bet on >300mhz.. very few kits do that. 270-280mhz seems more average

i'll leave asus to someone else who isn't biased against them.. :p:

Please, oh pleeeeese... Use search function or browse Xtreme Bandwidth section  Also, there is G.Skill Support section with info about HZ and Asus boards... We are posting results there for a reason, you know ;) There is a ton of posts about them here :fact:

Oh btw, like ozzi said... 300Mhz is out of the question for 99% of average UCCC users (not only 2GBHZ), from what we have seen so far. Unless, you meant 300HTT and memory on a divider...

Dude I don't think there is a single AMD ASUS user who still actually likes those boards...;)

The two Asus A8N SLI Premium (hope I got those letters right) I had lately did neither 300 MHz HTT nor did they do any kind of decent RAM speed, no matter whether 1T or 2T. For 4 sticks of RAM they wouldn't even run DDR333, for a RAM+CPU combo that does DDR400 in my DFI SLI-DR and my Asus A8V-E SE.

Furthermore, there are BIOS options missing which you need for high HTT, namely the A8N BIOS does not have control over max async latency.

this asus sli will do well above 300htt i run it at 320htt 24/7 but it does much more, its just that my old asus sli (got nicked along with my opty 148 Cabye 0536 :() wouldnt do above 240 on memory at 1t with corsair xms XLPT whcih did over 300fsb on my old neo2.
