Damon Muzny: I think we've already begun to round that curve and take advantage of dual-core processors. We've got partners like ATI and Nvidia who have put out optimized drivers that benefit from dual-core CPUs. And we work closely with software developers to help them. Microsoft developed Vista on AMD64 hardware, knowing that the original K8 "Hammer" design was modular to include future dual-core chips. We are clearly having a profound effect for the better on future software. Now, Intel is a very big marketing machine with plenty of resources, no doubt. So who wouldn't expect them to brand and market dual-core optimizations as an Intel thing? They chose the name "Core" for their new product which I don't really understand. It would be like Chevy coming out with the new engine line up for trucks they call "Cylinder." It would be silly because the competition would say, "Yeah, we got those too." AMD has proven to have the best dual-core processor for multi-tasking and multi-threaded and we are still the best platform to game on. So, perhaps they're spending lots in hopes that if they say it often enough you'll believe they invented dual-core, and the Internet... and the wheel.
im going to buy vista xD
