Probs with oblivion?

I havent had many issues at all, great game, but today, ive had it crash to the desktop twice while trying to sleep... ANyone else having these kind of annoyances?

Are you using driver 84.25. It seems that driver makes the game crash randomly, I've seen ppl talk about that on other forums too so it's not something I make up myself. I use it myself and it also crashes for me randomly but quite rarely. I still stick with the driver since I think I get best performance with it.

btw, since we're talking about this game, any1 else gets an unusually low constant fps with vsync turned on? I get a constant 42 - 43 fps anywhere (indoors, caves etc. too) except places where it goes below that of course or in inventory were it stays at 85 fps like it should due to the monitor running at 85Hz. With it shut off I can see fps up to 130 or so in caves for example. But why does it only run at 42 - 43 fps with vsync on and not up to 85 fps anywhere like all other games with vsync turned on. Weird.

yep mine crashes every 2 hours or so and I am on a 1900xtx so i dont think its a solely nvidia problem... Just oblivion is fairly new and still has lots of bugs.

mine crashes almost imediately on my system in sig. I can barely start a game without it crashing to desktop. System is super stable in anything else though. I found it is my X-Fi card. If I disable it via device manager no more crashes however no sound either.

I've never had an error with Oblivion while playing, but i have a 100% crash record when closing the application. The 84.25s don't let me ALT+TAB, the previous 84.21s did, but they didn't run as well, or crash on exit.

Have you added any sound mods or do you have the music turned all the way down?

i can run it fine, albiet at medium settings and alot of artifacting b/c of my broken card. have you guys tried the patch for it?

i almost forgot the other minor weird problem... It almost ALWAYS locks up when i alt-tab out of the program and then back in.

^^^ I get that too, I just keep taskmanager and firefox open (Firefox set to UESP wiki for quests and whatnot) and when it bugs, I'll maximize via taskmanager

Well rolled back to 6.2 cat's and now perfect again.

This is the identical problem I have. I have always had it since day 1. I can't play the damn thing because of this. I hope it can be fixed with new drivers.

I'm running it at highest settings (HDR+AA maximum, adaptive and temporal, etc) and it hasn't crashed yet...runs very nice, and it looks nice too.

Mine only crashes when I alt+tab. :(
I'm using 84.24 drivers I think.... (at work and I dont remember off the top of my head)
