I don't see the point anymore

If you're gonna buy a $300 video card, why not a $60 PCI-E mobo and get the best performance for your money

I sorta agree with Repoman, the AGP prices on current cards are outrageous anyways, in many cases I've seen picking up a cheap ASROCK mobo with a pci-e card would be the better choise. I mean a 6600GT 256MB agp costs same as a 7600GT pci-e for example (well almost).

Funniest is that AGP cards cost more than it`s pci-e variants.
Anyhow this might be good upgrade from 6800GT/X850XT and you only need is a videocard

Yea they do and sometimes with up to $50 more. :p:

Tho if they would manage to sell 7900GT AGP for let's say 320 - $340 it might be worth it, any higher and it would be pointless imo. Tho best strategy would to be release agp cards with lower amount pipelines that are unlockable for a bit lower price these days.

6800 and X800 cards aren't even outdated yet and still run games on high. The best plan is to wait for DX10 and upgrade MB and Video.

AGP just won't die... too many people still using it. Eventually they'll stop. They all do. It's the wish of the capitalists.

the fact thats keeping AGP alive aint that many people stil use it but its that manny people are stupid enough to pay extra for a AGp flavoured 7800GS.
Ive seen in enough shops that they have no problem getting rid of their 7800GS.

That nvidia is also gonna bring AGP versions of the 7600 and 7900 is simply cause the 7800GS showed them that there is stil a AGP market.

wouldnt wonder me tbh if ATI would also jump in with a high range AGP card.
cause if the AGP market is stil large enough for Nvidia todo something like this im shure ATI also wants a slice.

I thought nVidia has shortage problems with their 7900GT and 7900GTX cards, how are they gonna have enough for AGP 7900GT?
