Just got my connect3d x1800xt and having some troubles with it.
When i boot my pc the card is set to 475 on the core even though its default is 600.
If i run the ati overdrive tool to find max clocks from catalyst control center with the gpu set to 600 it goes back down to 475.
Am i missing something??

Those are the 2D clocks mate.... Use ATITool to overclock it

Was doing it in ati tool aswell, defaulting to 475 on boot up.
Solved the problem though, went back to cat 6.3 after seeing a thread a little bit lower down saying 6.4 was crap

All you needed was to disable ati services, I think :stick:

Damn this card is hot, using the ati overdrive find max clocks in ccc it says 690 core and 800 mem, but when i run 3d mark 05 it throttles the gpu down to 475 and mem to 600 and temps never pass 73c before it throttles.
And i have tried with ati services disabled and setting the clocks in overdrive, overclocker tool from driver heaven and ati tool all do the same.

Use ATITool and turn the fan speed up...

Also...

Remove the heatsink and apply some AS5 to it. It will help out alot!

Good Luck

You need to lap the cooler. That will help drop load temps 10C to 20C.

Orderd some more AS5 and a zalman vf900, damn stock cooler sounds like a jet plane at 100% fan speed.
Was going to add it to my watercooling loop but after seeing the temps at a moderate overclock i dont think it would handle it aswell as my opty.
Broke 10,000 in 3d 05 at 650/800 3g opty
