View Full Version : Only 4528 06 3D Marks? CPU test horrible...

So I just recently upgraded (x1900xtx ati, amd 64 4400+ x2 proc, asus a8n-32 sli deluxe, and my old 512x2 corsair 2700 RAM) and I just ran 3dmark06 with a freshly installed and upgrade version of windows xp, with catalysist and mobo drivers all installed and I only get and the CPU tests were absolutly horrible! I don't think I saw the FPS go above 0!!! Is this how it is supposed to be? The graphics tests were fine, somewhere in between 20-30 fps.
I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me there thinking about this, and maybe how to make it run better! (could the RAM be the problem?)
Heres my scores in depth:
4528 Marks
SM2.0 Score: 2165
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 2330
CPU Score: 862
I averaged 16.6 in proxycon, 19.4 in firefly forest, 22.76 in canyon flight, 23.8 in deep freeze, and GET THIS 0.27 in redvalley1, and 0.44 in redvalley2.
Thanks for your help guys!

yeah CPU score should be higher. It's acting like it's not dual core. I didn't need any dual core fixes, but maybe you do.

Can you tell me how to get them?

Mum, thanks for the links, but which one of those should I follow? The one from the AMD site seems easier, i'll try that one. Hopefully that will work. If I already installed my mobo, graphics drivers is that bad since I havn't done the x2 ones yet?

the amd one is more from a fresh install, but the xtremesystem link will work just fine

You should at least get 5000+ points.. my 4400 and 7800GTX already get that.. :D

Alright guys well damn! I got home and did the AMD.com forums update (posted above) did the hotfix, etc. Even device manager says there's two processors. I also updated my catalysist drivers to the newest one from the ones that came on the CD. And low an behold only my graphics scores went up:
Here are the old ones:
4528 Marks
SM2.0 Score: 2165
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 2330
CPU Score: 862
Here are the ones I just got:
4780 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score: 2290
SM3.0/HDR: 2581
CPU Score: 862 !!!! EXACTLY THE SAME
Very weird.. what could have happened? OH and BTW Before I updated the processors I didn't know if it really needed it or not, I never checked.

Chipset driver is installed?
EDIT: Sorry, didn't read your post.
Maybe you should reinstall it?

Funny, but I just tried 1gig of my friends OCZ 3200 RAM (one stick) and it was actually lower (and the one I was using before is only 1gig too (two sticks))
4758 marks
and only 857 cpu score (and the graphics one are alittle lower) so what should I do?
RaZz!

the cpu-score is way too low. even my 4000+ @stock (singlecore, 2.4ghz) gets ~960 points.
press ctrl+alt+del and check in the taskmanager if there are two cpu-usage graphs. if not you're running singlecore!

Sorry to reply in what looks to be a somewhat old topic. Anyway, the thread starter should be lucky in getting 4525 points in the CPU test of 3DMark 06. I just ran a test on my own X2 4400 and X1900XTX:
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 2122
CPU Score: 2075
That is what I call low. I became curious to test 3DMark06 because I had done a run with 3DMark01 and scored only a little over 33000. Keeping in mind that my X1800XL and X1800XT would both beat that, easily.
The CPU, btw, is clocked to 2760MHz currently and that was also the clock when running 3DMark06 (and 01). All the latest drivers are installed (ATI 6.4, Chipset drivers for DFI RDX200--I think that I have the latest, dual core fix from MS--downloaded from them, I contacted them personally).
So I have no idea of what could be wrong. I also definitively have no viruses, spyware, worms or trojans.

when you test is your video card running at 3d clocks, because i noticed that when the ati services are disabled the card stays at 500/600

hes not referring to the cpu score being 4.2k, his overall score is 4.2k and his cpu test is horrible

I don't worry much about it though; this "problem" is only manifesting itself in various synthetic benchmarking applications but never in games or other "real world" applications, in games and other applications the performance is absolutely stunning. I run BF2 at Ultra High settings with highest AA on, etc., and my average FPS is like 90-100 consistently, and it runs very smooth even though I "only" have 1GB of ram currently.
I ordered a 2GB set yesterday just to be on the safe side.
It does bother me a small bit that my score in 3DMark isn't very good (as it should be for my system).

-k0nslEvery 3dk06 score I've seen show an AMD DC @ 2700 equals a CPU score of 2000. So your score is exact: 2075 points @ 2760.

6454 Points (X1900XTX stock)

Konsl, sorry to ask but really i ask me how you have got this score on the first part of bench.. look my score do with single core..
6'214: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=231778
I don't talk about CPU i have not a DualCore.. but how have you this on first part (return of Proxycon)?...
Is this the X64 version of driver give this?
If i don't count the CPU test... i m at around 10FPS more in all test compared to you score.. just the first bench you have "15fps" more...
this just interest me cause if i can compense this loose of score on the first part i take my 6800 ( who know perhaps 7k)score easy.. without dual core..
