I have a 7800gt that came combo'd with the mobo andall that from the egg, I figured why not since I can step it up when I get a chance, well since I submitted my stepup almost a month ago I have moved almost nowhere in the que, I just wanted to make a Hate EVGA post, (I dont really hate em) I jst wish id move faster through the process..

If you are in the process of seting up a stepup, dont go for the 512 gtx superclocked, there in such demand the tech told me, that it could be 2 more months b4 I get mine..
"You could always step out of the line if you wish" Yeah right jerk.. :slapass:

Q1: So how does this EVGA step-up program work anyway?

Q2: Is it available in Europe (Sweden)?

q1: in a nutshell... say u bought your card less than 90 days ago... paid $150US before taxes/shipping... now u want to step up to this new card that costs $200US from EVGA.... so you pay 200-150 = $50 + shipping/taxes.... if the product is out of stock... you're placed in a queue... once your turn comes you pay then ship your card.... they check the card to make sure it works and its got everything then they ship you the new one

q2: yes

EDIT: and yes the 7900gtx superclock is moving very slow... i think its mainly due to the issues they had with the first batch of cards that couldnt handle the overclocked speeds..... however regular 7900gtx which will clock to SC speeds most likely is moving well..... they just received my 7800gtx 256 and now im waiting for them to ship my 7900gtx.... i entered the queue exactly 1 month ago

i think the shortage applies to all factory oc'ed cards, i have an xfx 7900gtx xxx ed. in backorder for 3weeks now and the expected delivery date still states "more then 2 weeks".. :(

I just stepped up from a 7800gt OC that maxed out at 478/1300, to a 7900gt vanilla that maxes out at 570/1700+ without vmods. The difference in price was only $10 for shipping, and my 3dmark05 scores have gone from around 8,000, to over 10,000.
Pretty good gain for me for $10.:D

The 7900 GTX standard seemed to move pretty fast. I was on the list early and thus was #74 in line to begin with. I moved all 74 places in I think less than 2 weeks after the product release.

Just $10? That is just awesome!! No wonder the StepUp line is so long :) But hey.. its easier then trying to sell you 7800GT in a forum, and hoping to recoup the cost to upgrade to a 7900GT.

I purchased a 7800GT back in March and did the whole step-up thing to get a 7900GT. I submitted my request May 9th ( tuesday ) and they were out of stock . I got the e-mail saying my card was in stock and I was ready to go on the 11th. I shipped my old card out on the 12th ( they received it on 15th) and I received my new card on the 19th ( I used 3 day shipping). I thought I would have to pay a little bit more for the card since my 7800GT had a $20.00 rebate that I received a couple of weeks ago, but I just had to pay the $4.99 price difference between the two cards ( plus shipping ). I couldn't be any happier with their service....
