I have a S12 Seasonic 600w psu and do they work with DFI nf4 mobos? I detest my current pc and seriously want to try some overclocking, which is not possible on my pc. I think that DFI is the best overclocking mobo so i want to know

some people have issues, others don't. mine seems to have worked well on all the dfi boards i've owned: nf3 250gb, rdx200, and nf4 expert.

mine was purchased in march 2006 and it is the A2 revision. But i heard that even with rev A2, there are problems. So im probably better off not taking my chances with DFI right?

I'm still not sure what the problem was, but if my understanding is correct the problme arose when you use DIMMs that need higher voltages (i.e. BH/CH-5)
I've run my DFI NF4 boards with Seasonic S12 600W, and a 20-pin Antec TrueControl I (first generation) and haven't had a problem at all even with extreme OC'ing. I have not owned those voltages loving memory sticks, though.

There are a couple threads here reporting problems, but I looked through them months ago and decided to buy one to go with my Expert. I have seen a LOT of other that have purchased the Seasonics to use with DFI's and have had no issues whatsoever. They also have added some nice touches to the new models, including sleeving (shoulda been there all along), and some additional connectors. The best part - is is dead silent. Buy one!

Like you guys were saying, not all of the SeaSonic S12s have problems running on DFI boards......but if you happen to get one that doesnt work supposedly you can contact SeaSonic, send them your psu and they will gladly send you one thats guarenteed to work with the DFI board. If you check out DFIstreet, there is plenty of info. on the SeaSonic + DFI issue.

I really want a DFI nf4 expert but worried that my seasonic will not work. I wont have access to a pc if i end up sending my seasonic back for a compatible one. I reeally wish there was a way to know for certain that mine will work. It is a revA2 but does not have any sleeving.

I just popped in my new S12-500 and it's working flawlessly. This PSU is so damn quiet I can't hear it at all from 30 cm away.
Can anyone explain the problem exactly ?
You need to send your PSU back to get a DFI compatible one?
Why don't they make all Seasonic PSU's DFI compatible then? :stick:

IIRC the problem was that DFI NF4 boards pulls too much current from +5VSB rail during startup and Seasonic's protection is too strict here and shuts off the system.
Ivan, did you get the latest revision with sleeved cables?
