Yo.

I just bought a new 3500+ and a MSI K8n Neo4 Plat board for a back up rig. Wierd thing is Cpuz reads the venice core as "Manchester" Stepping BH-E4.

So goofing off not expecting anything out of this MSI board I started overclocking. Read a little to get by a couple dumb bios bugs and pushed it a little.

Im at 11x247 for 2705 Mhz 2.5-3-3-6 (Ocz plat rev2) on 1.49v

Prime Stable? yes..

500 Mhz O/c from a MSI board? Does the wierd stepping a code have anything to do with this chip O/Cing so easy.

I havent even pushed it at all. I could go to 1.55 and probably hit 2830 ish.

I have screens but no where to host them =\

Hmm PC wizard says something different..

It says that its a Venice core and a DH-E6 revision.

I didnt even write down the steppings.. all i remember is it was a 0550tpmw ..

It clocks much higher im going to have to look i guess..

But on a MSI board? Everyone says these are crap. =\

Hehe, read sig. Neo4 Plat FTW. Glad to hear about the results.

People underestimate these boards. You can also see a screen of a Opty 148 on my board, XP-90C validated @ 3.2GHz :p.

Hmm maybe i lucked up on a good chip !

I have a Vapcohill here maybe i should crank it up..

Naaa this is my backup rig.

The only thing i see that could limit this boards ability to overclock is the core temp threshhold for scaling back the ghz.

PC wizard says it will start scaling at 50C. No way to turn this off in bios that i can see.

But with a low voltage needing cpu (opty etc..) and some tccd this thing smokes for a MSI.
