Hi Members!

i'm really distressed with my Asus P4P800-SE :o( , because there's a serious problem with the VDIMM voltage.

But first of all my HW config.

Intel PM770
Asus P4P800-SE (with all Mods!)
4 * 512MB Winbond BH5 (old)
PSU - Tagan 480W

The FSB is set to 180Mhz, cause i can't get higher, and that's the problem!
I've set VDIMM to 3.2V and measured the voltage at full load (memory bandwidth test). The voltage dropped to 2.7V!!
No wonder why i can't get higher then 180MHZ..

So i've installed a 3.3V mod..direct from the PSU.
Voltage was stable @ 3.25V.
But it wasn't an improvement. Once again the voltage dropped, to 2.8V. (A lil bit more FSB was possible)

What's the matter?
The number of installed DIMMs doesn't care.. 4/2/1..never mind..
I've tried a lot of tricks (Boot with 201Mhz, miscellaneous bios settings..) but the problem persist..

The answer to this problem.... a new PSU? New Board? AMD? ;)

Thx in advance..

Are you sure the mod is well done? Maybe a DDR booster? : p

The symptoms indicates that some of the mods have made the board "semi-defective".
Even "old-school" BH5 will handle FSB200 @ 3-3-3-8 @ 2.7-2.8.
"It doesn't matter..4-2-1 sticks"...
Of course it matters... With 4 sticks the memory performance will drop significantly.. with 1 or 3.. you are running single channel.. but I guess you knew that.. :)
The answer to the problem:
Start with a unmodded board.. and find the max OC for your 770/BH5-sticks (preferably 2 sticks).
Then you might consider modding for those 100Mhz extra..

hi guys :)
the mods were done by an expert.. but of course, nobody is perfect!

thx for your answers..i will now evaluate the best way for me..
i think it isn't worth to go for a new board, it will be better to wait for the new core's and boards...
