D2OL - Phase II

"I want to give you a brief rundown of what should happen during the switchover tomorrow:

By 8AM EDT, I will gather and archive the final statistics from Phase I for the purpose of creating the Hall of Fame (which won't appear for a few days). After that I will take the project servers down, and then Charles will switch to the new NAS. Finally, I'll bring the servers back up and we should be back in business. I'll make an announcement when everything is running again, which I expect to be before 10AM.

Initially, I'll put the queue size at 100, just in case something goes wrong. I don't want to hand out thousands of bad data points to you all. When things look OK, I'll bump it back up to the full 2000.

Thanks for your efforts during Phase I and your enthusiasm for Phase II.

Cool! :cool: I'll start the D2OL clients back up when I get home. I know I've gone through my ups and downs with D2OL, but it really is a pretty nice project to run. ;)

Oh, I see... not cheating but just the use of fuzzy logic/math. That's also very original when it comes to you Cows. I remember the logic/math used when our DDTUNG was asking questions that related to cheating. It was an awesome display of this logic/math that really came through for you and saved the day... nice one! :up:

Daarvoor moet je het FDC forum lezen. Of zie het eerste lijntje van Jeff zijn post in deze thread. Jullie hebben de eerste plaats (hopelijk) verdient maar je moet nu niet de stoere man uithangen want je weet goed genoeg dat we D²OL achter ons gelaten hebben omdat we maar eens aan een 'echt' project moesten deelnemen van jullie.

if and i do mean IF, you beat us in d2ol, the only reason you did is because of all of these little "sneak dumps". what i mean is, there wasn't one person on DPC that was man enough or has two that are big enough to come here to the XS d2ol forums and say "we are going to take #1 overall for the first phase, bring it on".

it might work, but its a cheap way of doing things. its much more fun to be like us and say "we are going to bury you in 'insert project here', try and stop us". we dont hide, we never will, we dont do these little sneak attacks. Sneak attacks are for the weak who dont have a chance at winning the war in the long run. if you want to right it out, say you want to take it right now, and we'll be more than happy to hit you a few more times while you're already down.

DPC boys : This is a PUBLIC board, where the language is ENGLISH. So speak english please.

We overtook you in D2OL when you guys where still pretty large into it, not very but still enough to be a adversary.

Now we ALL switched to rosetta (yes a few rigs that can't be switched to rosetta are still running D2OL who cares?) and now you take glory in overtaking us....

Oh and btw please do not come here to poo on our members, or crap on our achievements in the past. We do not belittle DPC's previus achievements and we will not stand for DPC belitteling ours.


Respect is something you need to earn. You guys had our respect when you put up a fight in D2OL and now with the stampede but people that come here just to pick fights or to belittle us make that respect for DPC drop FAST.


BTW I already contacted the DPC staff about these kinds of incidents occuring and guaranteed that our members will not engage in foolish behavior. He say's he expects the same from his members so please... don't

Virtually you never had the #1, beause our buffer. And it wasn't meant as sneak attack to. We decided +/-14 months ago (much before you guys did "overtoke" us) to save 1million points for our birthday at 11 juli.

Wonder what would happen if all the points that were awarded because of fraud were removed from the D2OL system? I have a hunch... it's just a hunch... that the XS.org total may only go down slightly because of the testing that went on in figuring out how easy it would be to cheat. I'm thinking that less than 5,000 points would be removed.

How many do you think DPC would lose? Just curious? ;)

AND btw WE HAD NR1. Buffering might be a DPC trademark but not a Xs. In the reported scores we had nr1. Unless the nodes where added to your team they do not count so considder this just a dump. You took back NR1 but nodes not connected to a team cannot be counted as teamnodes. Simple as that to me.

And lets PLEASE not get into the cheating discussion again. please?

We wheren't playing with accounts, we only had 805K on unadded node on OUR own account. But because of the crash, adam have to add that nodes manually.
