HOLY :banana::banana::banana:, i didnt know that those presHOTS were that bad.
Either you go with the thermaltake BT which should help temps alot, or my advice would be to go with water.
I think your on your limits with the zalman, i dread to think what your load temps are?

I was thinking that water might be my only option. I realy want to be able to try and push it farther but these temp have me conserned with going any farther.

I ran a 3.2 E DO with an XP-90c with a 90mm thermaltake blue led fan. It ran like like 50c somthing load. TT BT has my vote. That or go water.

Those temps are way too high for idle speeds. I OC'ed a 3.2 prescott to 3.9 on my XP-90 and my temps at load were 64c. Check your case airflow for any dead air pockets, and play with you fans in order to achive a proper front to rear air flow. Still nice OC, good luck.

Im pretty sure that wouldnt be a good idea, 478 boards arent really designed for prescotts to begin with and the p4p wouldnt be a real wise choice to move from a max3

I would not waste one dime on a TT BT when a Xp-90C can do it in roughly 1/3 the size! I read post that some people are having problems getting the TT BT to fit inside their mini towers. They didn't realize how big the TT BT actually is LOL

Would the XP-90 work just as good?

I had an XP-120 on my 3.4E at 3.8GHz IC7-g Max II. It was hitting 65C under load. I've switched to a Apogee, MCP655, & 2x120 rad & now it folds at 41C at 4.0GHz. I can bench at 4.1GHz too.

it sounds to me like your board is reporting incorrect temperatures, and or you are not seating the heatsink properly. i have had 4 prescott based cpu's including my current celeron, and at 4.1ghz up to 4.4ghz, i have max temperatures of 37c idle and 42c load on swiftech apex watercooling kit.

Thats not bad at all actually. My friends 2.8A with stock cooler and lowered rpm's on fan did 85 degrees when gaming and worked perfectly :D

Yeah, prescotts have a higher operating range to compensate for the heat.
I have a 3.0E on a P4P800E, won't break the 4 Ghz mark on air, but will bench at 3.9 no problem. Gets bloody hot and warms up the whole apt when i run it like that though. :)

Well I did get it running at 555c on air @ 4.0 I used an air duct from my ac unit :D. Well I think I did hit my limit with it 255 FBS and my memory has a fit, I think I will try a divider tonight when i get home and see what more I can do with it.

Dont switch to that Asus. I had both boards and the Abit is 10x better with a better setup bios and I got a higher overclock in it.
And for the heatsink, just get a BT and stick a strong 120mm fan with some AS5 on it and you are good to go.
Oh and my friends s478 Prescott was at 75*C load, with the BT it fell to 55*C load.
