Hi guys. I'm fairly new to this forum but from what I've read on FCG and FUGGER's Conroe thread I love what I see.

I'd appreciate any advice you could give me on how to get the most out of my new PC situation. Here are the main points:

I need to buy a new PC in mid-May no matter what...

...but I would like to upgrade to Conroe as soon as it arrives.

Would you:

1. Buy a 975 chipset board (like the ASUS P5WD2-E or hopefully something with Conroe-friendly voltage control if it's out by mid-May) with a dual core Presler and the best DDR2 RAM at the time and then just swap the chip when Conroe arrives?

or

2. Buy a reasonably priced dual-core AMD setup since they seem to have better performance for now, then sell everything and buy all new mobo/RAM/CPU when Conroe arrives? (This option is more expensive, would probably only do it if the gain in performance and overclockability on mobos and RAM is expected to be big by waiting the extra two months).

or something else altogether?

Basically what it boils down to for me is how much benefit I will receive from my other components (RAM and mobo) by waiting an extra two months for those and purchasing them the same time as Conroe. If it's not much, I'd rather save the cash; if it is expected to be huge, then I'd consider it. Any thoughts?

As an aside, I'd also like to buy the OCZ phase change unit when it gets here (assuming performance is at least decent, which I'm sure it will be). If it's not out by mid-May, would you suggest any similarly-priced alternatives or just get a cheap air cooler and suck it up until it hits the market?

Obviously these are subjective questions, but I'd like to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
