Do I have to use special tape to get my probe to stick on the processor so it can be near the cpu core?

nah.. a regular masking tape or a scotch tape will do..

I used electrical tape.. works like a charm!

I use clear packaging tape, I found masking tape dries out after awhile but you don't need anyting special.
