I've been trying out the new car racing simulator named "Evolution GT".
Notice that I'm saying Simulator, this is a simulator, not another arcade racing game ( like the Need For Speed Series ® or Juiced ® ).
Racing Simulators are harder to play ( but let me say more enjoyable ) because they're meant to give you a more realistic experience/approach on car driving.
The more experience you got into real driving ( I mean in real life ), the easier the game will look to you ( hmmm..not easier, I should say less difficult :D ).
Let's get a lil' bit into the game details:
The full game release date is 26th April 2006 :)
There'll be 33 desirable cars in the game, let me name some of 'em:
Alfa Romeo 8C
Alfa Romeo Brera
Alfa Romeo GT
Audi A3 3.2 Quattro
Audi A4 Racing
Audi A6 4.2 Quattro
Audi TT 3.2 Quattro
Bugatti EB110
Chevrolet Corvette C6R
Chevrolet Corvette Z06
Chevrolet Lacetti Racing
Chevrolet Monte Carlo
Mercedes CLK GTR
Mercedes SL 55 AMG
Mercedes SLK 55 AMG
Opel Astra
Opel Speedster
Opel Vectra Racing
Pagani Zonda Roadster
Pontiac GTO
Pontiac Solstice
Renault Clio Cup
Renault Clio V6
Renault Megane Trophy
Seat Leon 2.0 FSI
Seat Leon Racing
TVR T350
TVR Tuscan 2 Targa
TVR Tuscan Racing
Vauxhall Astra Racing
Volkswagen Golf GTI
Ok, not all look desirable to me, but they're good enough :D
Nice cars, where will I be able to ride 'em ?
On City tracks like Barcelona, and on racing tracks like Hockenheim.
In the game you'll have a old world champion "Gabriele Tarquini" guiding you & teaching you on racing techniques.
The cars look very nice, detailed, and realistic.
The tracks & the environment seem realistic aswell, and are well designed.
The reflections ain't looking that good to me ( compared with the rest graphics level in the game ) , they're probably using low level reflection update rate.
The sound effects are quite good, and with the surround sound / 5.1 support will give you a racing feel inside your entertainment room :D
The A.I. ( Artificial Intelligence ) of our opponent drivers is good, but from my experience ingame, ain't perfect.
The game features the "Tiger Effect" just like the "Tiger Effect" in SCAR ( Scuadra Corse Alfa Romeo ), and some visual & sound effects on "drafting" & opponent intimitation, which seem fine ( and feel ok :) ) [ I don't know if we'll be able to disable these visual & sound effects though ]
Each car features it's "driving behavior" & unique attitude, which is nice to see ( and anticipated from the simulator game lovers :D )
Some portions of the game & the menus reminded me of SCAR, and then....wow, my memory replied "Bill, it's the same developer, BlackBeans developed both SCAR & Evolution GT" :D
I'd rate SCAR around 6,5 - 7 out of 10, but this game granted a 8,5 from me :)
Anyways, I'll end this preview/mini-preview with some screenshots from the game ( the corvette one's from a race replay, the other pics are ingame captures )

Active Graphics Settings: Full Quality, 6x Anti-Aliasing ( with 3x Temporal Anti-Aliasing ) 16x Anisotropic Filtering, No Optimizations, ATi Catalyst v6.3
