ok, i did a search, but never did find what i needed. so i figured id ask. when building your own SS flex line to braze up, what type of SS line do you use? becasue ive seen many "gas line heat tranfers" ss lines and the such, but have never have seen a PSI rating.

so if you could kindle post a link to NON brazed up SS lines ( so not the one from under the ice.com) or a good explatation of the the stuff i need would also be nice.
thank you for anyone who is kind enough to post it.
and if for some reason i missed a post that has this info, please by all means post me a link! well thank you all

not sure of where to get it, but you're looking for likely 3/8" corrugated stainless steel pipe. i'm currently using a pre-built line from Yellow jacket - UPC No. 31436. it has female flare connections on both ends and is 3feet in length, they refer to it as "teflon hose" but I think it's rated to fifty below or so, havent looked it up but the guy who I had order it for me said it'd be suitable for my application :) (single stage r290)

yeah after talking with my father (man i love him) he rembered that there is place near by, that can make me the stuff i need. its going to be ptfe(teflon) core with stainless steel braid cover, rated at -65 500psi and 26"hg, you can get them from mcmaster-carr(for those who would like to know)
but i was still courios on the corgated pipe, i saw some that was rated for .5 psi, and another for 5 psi :nono: so where is the high rated stuff???
anywho, thank you for the info, and well if anyone has anthing to add, please do.
best regards

are you sure ptfe teflon hoses are able to handle pressure in combination with low temperatures? I've heard they start to crumble

Won't you have to run the cap tube inside a hose like that? I have a couple of commercial immersion chillers (ss and cascade) and they use teflon hose, the cap tube almost has to be inside the hose AFAIK. I'd thought about using the regular "home depot" stainless steel flex gas hookup line, any problems with that on a SS?

ooooooooo thank you for the links. and i get what your saying about running the cap tube in the line, guess ill have to do that.

also as for the GAS line stuff at home depot. when looking in mcmaster-carr they are only rated for .5psi ...... the other is 5psi....... so i wouldnt go there if i were you. but as long as you do a 24hr+ leak/burst at like 450psi then i guess you could. but rember safty first.
well ive got my stuff under control thank you guys.
