Just about to begin building my phase change unit, but im stuck with the dilema of what compressor and what gas to use. Any particular models I should look for? I know I want a 1/3 HP for sure, but other than that I'm not sure what to look for in a compressor (other than the gas type.) I also don't know what kind of condenser I should get. Any help would be appreciated.

Where are you from. US and Europe have some of the same compressors and some different ones.

I think it would be easier to find somebody's airconditioner they threw out or go to a junkyard. Unless you can find a deal on ebay compressors are usually quite expensive (easilly over $100) and I got four air conditioners for free after i signed up for freecycle.
