Hey guys just wanted to say hi and maybe get some help with running this prog:) I followed the directions that I was given to join XS The Machine but it wasnt working so I just joined the XtremeSystems team. I also replaced the default settings with the optimized setting. I hope I am on the right track:) I am currently running on my laptop until I get my benching rig up and running. I know my little 1.5ghz Dothan wont do much crunching but it will have to do for now:( Anyway I hope my small effort helps out a little and any pointers to help optimize or how I can help out more please let me know. Thanks!

Personally, I prejer PA to NJ. Going to college in Indiana makes me wish I was going to school back in PA. I've lived there my entire life so far (21 years).

Welcome to the team!:toast:
I have to say Thank God you couldn't get on the XSTM sub team! They get any more members and they're going to need a size 2 font to list them all in thier sig!:D
The dothans do well. My 770 at 2567mhz does 660 a day. Not a AMD killer but decent for that little chip.
Next question: Have you run the optimised client yet?

Scroll down to the bottom right and grab this one:
http://www.bm-makler.de/setiathome/boinc/pc/Boinc_5.2.13_P4_Athlon64_SSE2.zip
Make sure you have the Boinc and Rosetta program off when you overwrite the files.( Files go to C:/ Program files/BOINC
Good Luck!:D

Corrected the minor problem :D More hoopla later :cheer2:

TO ALL XSTM:

When sending out the setup notes, CHANGE THE PASSWORD TO THE NEW ONE :hrhr: (Make it much easier for the new teammate to set up? )

Welcome njkid! Good to have you on the team. Any thoughts on DIMES?? If you use the same ISP as Serlv & LVdicer than its a no-go.

which is the reason i decided to only put the contact people in mine, if mine was any larger i'd get a visit from the sig police, although i dont even know who that is these days

Ok I am a bit confused! Right now I am running Rosetta on 2 laptops. One is a Dothan 1.5ghz and the other is a Sempy 1.8ghz. Now the funny thing is this Sempy is doing MUCH better than my Dothan WHY? Maybe I messed up the optimized files or something. I really didnt run my Dothan much today cuz I was using it but when they were both running at the same time the Sempy was doing much better... Hmm Here are the links to the 2 comps..

Dothan (http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=187304)
Sempy (http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=188802)

Movieman

easy answer..look at the benchs..the sempy is killing the dothan..Rosetta favors the AMD products heavily..
You can drop an X2 3800 on a $125.00 MB, OC it to 2700 and it will pull 1300-1500 a day..
I have a DX3600/2mb/800 setup with close to $4600.00 in parts that does max 1100 a day..no justice huh?:D
My dothan at 2587 gets 650 on average a day..

Yeah thats what I thought:) Not my lappy though its a neighbors and I was reloading it for them. They are gone for 2 weeks so I asked them if I could run Rosetta on it. Its for a good cause:)

Ok guys I just added a 165 in my bench rig and its up and running now. I had to do a few hours of stability testing just to make sure I could run it. I just picked this thing up from a forum member yesterday for errrm $45:) So I had him overnight it so I could get it up and running for today. Its coldbugged over 320 htt so I'll just be running it at 290 htt just to play it safe. So, I'll have my 2 laptops running today and my 165:) I just ran the Rosetta bench test on it and what I got was
3543 double precision MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU
10663 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU

How is this? Do I need to clock higher to make it run better:) Thanks guys!

I am also glad to see that the 2 guys I got to help out are already crunching #'s.... Thanks DOUIRC and OC_newbie for helping out!!!

EDIT: My 165 finally showed up on the list its #192015

what mhz is that???? im gonna take a rough guess and say 2.5-2.55.

njkid32
04-01-2006, 02:23 PM
Yeah thats where its at:( But I didnt have much time to play with it cuz I wanted to get it crunching:)

ex2cib
04-01-2006, 02:27 PM
well, if thats the speed its good then, my venice is at 2.55 and it gets anywhere from 10k-11.2 on benches. just depends on what i have running in the background at the time.
