i've been wondering whether anyone's tried a BH based CPU under some really cold cooling like LN2 and -190C+ load.......

report in guys :)

Nope.

Got a BF that does SuperPi 4M at 3200 under single stage though. I either want to sell it or DI it. Or sell it to someone who wants to DI it. :D

Coldest I personally saw was -56 dino. Send me some LN2 and ill test it for you free of charge :D

If users hadn't alienated Stephen I would send him My cpu for colder testing but now It would be pointless as he refuses to post here anymore.

-190C won't happen. I remember some 670's not running that cold. Just too much cold for the board and everything. I'm sure some of these BH's could run down to -120c or so. If I can find some ln2 locally I'll try it but I doubt I will.

even the 130micron fx55's would max out at about -120 to -130
not sure what these 'bh' max at but i would expect it to be higher than -120

You need any special permits or licenses to buy LN2? Can you rent containers? I know of quite a few places that have it locally just never checked as I thought it was not available to the public without some type of permit or license.

s7 said there was no point BUT unless you try you never know.........it would be interesting to know WHEN the cold bug does hit

These BHs and BFs will DICE but i don't see LN2 happening at all.

I do :)
:) i like the sound of that

my phase unit is not cold enough for my BH CPu so i don't want to even try.....i am organising a DICE/LN tube through someone but i am yet to find out how much LN2 is and what's involved...........i also wanted to see if anyone from XS members did try this in case s7 was right.....

Here's a screenie of a BH chip under LN2 that stephen sent me some time ago. Just found it. This was of particular interest to me as I'm aquiring this chip.

i didn't think that was LN2

Even if it was, 250 HTT is worthless. If a chip is going to be of any use under LN2, you need 10x and 350+ HTT, or 11x and 320+ htt, or 12x and 300 htt.

While you might be able to get a BH cold and do 250, you just won't be getting 300+ HTT at LN2 temps.

all i want to know is if any has tried it and WHEN do they cold bug.......what temps, HTT or whatever the trigger is :)

IIRC, proper LN2 should give you -170c temps. That will make ANY AMD 64 coldbug. Now if you put it on really sloppy, maybe you could achieve only -90c core temps or something... some AMDs will work there, but not many, and the HTT is going to have very little headroom.

the P4s are getting -198C and -190C load or thereabouts

-157° in SmartGuardian is sure as hell not DI temps ;)

This chip can run those core temps @ 250HTT, so it's a very unique chip indeed. If it has an open multi then it's almost the holy grail but I'd say it's a 4800 for sure or else we'd have heard alot more about it.

It's not -157 unless I am missing something

who said they were DI temps

that's -98C REAL and a multistage cascade in idle is more than capable of that if built well
