Hi everybody !

I've had my vapochill modded by xs316 (thanks to him), to help my FX-60 to get some scores ;)

Sadly, it seems to be hardly coldbugged, as at -12 it's freezing... (210x15... @ 1.65v).

I've played with drive strengh but it seems it can't help.

The stepping is : CCB2E 0536SPMW

Anyone can help me ? :( I thinking on switching on Intel 965XE...

Or use a copper shim between the evap head and IHS, as demonstrated by s7e9h3n and OPB.

What is it that actually causes the coldbugg? shouldnt AMD be able to prevent it?

They should, but they have no need to do so because only 0.01% of the people use extreme cooling. The guess is that the colder the cpu gets the lower 1 or more latencies in the memory controller are set. AMD does this to improve performance a bit, but for us enthousiasts they should have made an option to disbable this.

I'm sure it's not only the drive strenght that is involved in the whole coldbug thing as changing it doesn't fix the problem for many users.

so if that is the case shouldn't we be able to fix this in a bios mod? unless it is on the chip itself...then we would have to modify the chips code...but the thing is that no one can REALLY do that...i am sure if someone could of they would have...but it seem to me that it is all software related and not so much the chip itself...is there any chance of calling amd and ordering a special chip without that option programmed in...tell that that u plain on breaking some WR and posibly competing with intels newest offering...i dont think they would turn that down from someone like OPB or fugger and so on...

Basically if you run @ 1:1 it will froze at -37C evaporator temp. (with digital ther. probe stuck @ evap. mount) or around -48C on Vapo LS lcd......with htt at 235 to 240 max.

Mine freezes at anything above -19 bios temp with only 219HTT but I can bench \game at 15 x 216 using the 250 divider so i'm running 265Mhz Memory!!!

I'm getting my mach modded for extreme cold & extreme load, i'm gonna be using a copper cold plate between the evap & the IHS to try & control temps a bit more!!!
