Ok, my computer does not recognize my dual core. Windows doesn't, and when I try to run any Sandra benchmark it doesn't work. I have downloaded service pack 2, amd drivers, hotfix....... and idk what to do now.

well first off specs would be nice, secondly I think your problem may be that you have not installed the ACPI multiprocessor driver which usually needs to be done manually if you haven't done a fresh install.

Does your bios recognize X2 if not, do you have the most up to date bios?

im not really sure what my bios recognizes, but everything i've seen so far indicates an unkown model of the hammer family.

Manually install the multi processor driver. Reboot then ctrl alt delete for task manager open performance tab and tell us if it see's 2 cpu's.

I have had this prob a few times and it seems sometimes windows just needs a little kick in the but:) So what I do is just go into the device manager and uninstall the uniprocessor and then windows will have you reboot then 9x out of 10 it will recognize the dual core... But the first thing I would do is update the bios cuz if its saying its a sledgehammer then its not recognizing the cpu properly.. Update it to 704BTA and you prolly wont have a prob.

go to device manager. expand my computer, click on acpi uniprocessor PC's properties. click driver, update driver.check the display a list of driver for this device so i can choose a specific driver. Click show all hardware of this device class. choose the acpi Multiprocessor pc then hit next. install it reboot and your done. Please post back when your done to confirm that it worked.

I manually installed the new drivers, and it appeared successful, but I went into task manager and did not notice a difference.

You need to upgrade the system BIOS to have the motherboard correctly recognize the processor. After that, to ensure that your system will fully recognize it, re-install Windows.
Good luck.

can you screen shot your task manager performance tab?
It should look like this with 2 cpu performance graph's side by side if it worked.

Well if you have never flashed a bios before then here is a good link to follow:)
http://www.dfi.com/support1/bioshelp.htm
I dont recomend using winflash cuz I have always had probs using it and as a result had several corrupted bios's. So follow those directions and you should be ok..
