This is an ice maker my buddy gave me to play with. Is this an accumalator??

If so, how is it constructed inside?

I think so, its probably constructed with the top from the top pushed to the bottom of the insides, and the tube from bottom to the top. The excess refrigerant liquid goes into the bottom from top tube where the capillary is wrapped and has to evaporate to get back into the compressor.

Now what is the unfrosted tube for?

the unfrosted tube is to invert the cycle, it comes directly from the compressor with hot gas

its to "unfrost" the cubes a litlle bit so they can fall out of the cube maker

(humm my english is getting suckier, hope u guys can understand)

I was hoping to keep them guessing for awhile long..

I'll clearify for Blaster. Its just a hot gas line feed from a soleniod valve. Which energizes when its time to dumb the ice into the bin. Basicly melting a thin laying of ice so it will drop off the evaporator.

Awesome - :D

It seems that oil would get trapped in the accumalator.
