Hey guys, been away from amd section for a while. Just got my Opteron 170 from AFI, reattached the heatspeader as I am on phase and I don't want to deal with bad mounts.

I've been having a weird occurance and this is my first dual core so hopefully one of you will know. I booted up into windows and everything runs great! I can pass 3dmark 06 and hours and hours of prime. However... even at STOCK speeds when I try to run 2 instances of spi the second one IMMEDIATELY errors saying "non convergent in sqr" ...I don't get it, 2 instances of prime small fft's will run for hours but pi bugs out? My friend said this is common on DC but didn't know if there is some trick to running 2 instances of pi on DC.

Thanks guys!

Have you set the affinity for each instance of Pi (Task manager>rightclick superpi>affinty>core 0/core1?

Pi will error our if 2 instances are used on one core.

DOH! I knew it was something like that....thanks, DC still new to me, I get it so spi doesn't automatically default to the 2nd core...thanks!

actually.... I just tried it, set one to cpu 1 and the other to cpu 0 and it still gave me "not convergent in SQR05" arg...this is annoying..any thoughts?

Are you running SPI from different folders? As far as I know it won't work when you run two instances from the same location.

Yeah, copy SP into 2 different folders. Open it out of each folder. Set one instance to each core, and then run. That should work.
