Hi guys, i've been browsing these forums for some time now and since i recently upgrade, tuesday to be exact, i decided to register for these forums :D
anyways, i upgraded from a 1.2ghz t-bird @ 1.5ghz to:
p4 2.53ghz
asus p4pe
256mb kingston ddr
ati radeon 9700 pro
maxtor 30gb hard drive
anyways now for some overclocking results
after a lot of trial and errors, i've come to a current overclock of:
19 x 170 = 3.23ghz @ 1.625v. these p4s really do overclock nicely. i started out at 1.7v and i've gradually lowered the voltages to 1.625v and its 100% stable. sandra burn ins, overnight looping of 3dmark2k1, ut 2k3, warcraft 3.. its 100% stable.
as far as ram timings go, i have my ram running at 454mhz ddr, which i think is rather impressive for kingston value ddr ram that is rated at 333 ddr. as for timings, i think i've maxed out and i have it at SPD (defaults on my mobo). but sisoft ram benchmark scores are about 3330/3380 or something like that.
highest 3dmark so far has been 16305 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=5845489 but my ram was running at 425ddr for that benchmark, i have to rebench at 454.
the radeon itself is very impressive. at 1024x768 max fsaa and AF i score about 7800. an impressive upgrade from my aging geforce 3 ti200.
