View Full Version : Does the A8N32-SLi still suffer warm boot issues?

I'm assembling a new PC within the next two weeks and I've been thinking of either getting the A8N32 or the Diamond Plus. I've been going back and forth on this for almost a month :(

I have owned both boards in the past, I had the A8N32 first but the warm boot issue just drove me insane so I bought a DP. I gave the A8N32 to my brother in law. Then some company took my PC for testing and in return they are buying me a really kick ass PC.

I'd like to go with the ASUS again because they are *usually* very reliable boards. The issue of heat that comes with sandwiching an X-Fi Elite between two 7900GTXs may present a problem though. I have a Stacker 810 case so there are 3 120mm intake fans and 2 120mm + 1 80mm exhaust fans which may make heat not an issue :D .

I'm no doubt going to OC my FX-60, with my last CPU I really couldn't take it to the limit on either board. Will the 8 phase power really make a difference OC'ing this CPU to maybe 3.0ghz 24/7 stable? I'll be going for the highest possible CPU OC, my memory will probably stay within 210-220mhz so a high HTT doesn't matter to me.

well i think the warm boot issues are definetly vcore related. i was having warm boot issues even though i was prime stable for 50+hours. upped the vcore a couple notches, and no more warm boot. i know it sucks, but if thats all it takes, its not a big deal to me.

I had boot issues with an OCZ 520W which eventually died, chnaged to the FSP700, the a8n32 board has been trouble free ever since.

Hmm so it isn't fixed...

When I first had the board bumping up the voltage didn't fix it, it would just boot 20% of the time as opposed to 0%.

I was running the board with a PC P&C 510SLi so the PSU wasn't the issue.
