WELCOME TO XTREME!!
My vote is for the EPOX 8RDA+....many here on these forums are using this board and absolutely love it. I have one but havent put it into the prometeia case yet. It has all the features you could ask for and easy to mod. It's also forward compatable with Barton.;)

i wont recommend epox for stability. the nf2 boards seem to have random probs that effect you even if your pc will run prime fine for days.... for example i have owned the epox board and now i have a nf7. the nf7 is much more stable than the epox but i still occaisionally get random crashes and odd probs.
the most stable board i have ever used to this date was the abit kx7-333 that thing was a rock and was very good at overclocking as well but you cant get that high fsbs with it... if you have pc2700 ram only you should look into it. had it on for 6 months straight only restartin when i installed somethin that required it . never crashed ONCE at 185fsb.

so if i wanna get HIGH fsb which one is the best mobo cause now you confuse me!!
now i'm in doubts between the nf7 and the epox!!! grrrr
which one would you take for maximum overclocking???
Random Crashes and odd problems?
If you were having alot of stability problems with your RDA, something must have ben wrong...........

If you want a cheap, fast and reliable board i would get the KD7-E. Not for the most Xtreme fsb, but i run 200mhz fsb all day long with this board. Never failed me once, it also has 2.35v max vcore and 3.25v max vmem, and thats a really nice feature. Plus its Barton compatible with the newest BIOS release too :)

?? you were doing something wrong then
it runs pretty nice @ 210+ with corsair PC3500 ram...

Don't be dissing the Abit NF7 series boards. They don't need as much power to do the same stuff. Besides, they can hit 200FSB without going to a 2.7 V Vdimm.

If that's what you want then go with the 8RDA+...
I haven't had any stability problems with it at the speed I'm running and I'm also air-cooled.
I've only done the Vdd mod which is fairly simple. All other voltage settings work fine with me in the BIOS. I never shut that system down either, only when necessary. :D

Yep, 8RDA+ gets my vote too!

I agree. The KD7-E is still my OC board of choice. The NF2 boards I tried made some nice Bansi runs for me, but the KD7-E produces my best 24/7 stable overclocks.

NF-7 has my vote.
B/C you better have an adjustable pot on that PSU if u get an 8RDA+.:(
When you raise the vcore, the 5V rail goes down and the 12Vrail goes up
Silly EPoX, overclocking is for ABIT:D

I'm rock stable at 215 which is a little more than where you have yours my friend.
I think any of the Nforce boards would be rock stable at 185 where you have yours. He said he wanted high FSB's, so I suggest he go with the Epox. They have been the one's taking it above 200 without a problem..
I understand you're an Abit fan (I love them too), but don't make biased decisions when the man is asking for an honest opinion :stick:
I love both manufacturers as I have had many of them and had great experiences...

thx to all of ya
like ma sig sais i bought the Epox and i'm very pleased about it!!
great board although now i wanna buy maself a NF7 to compare but that will take a while!!!
the epox is doin 199 fsb but i think ma CPU is holding me back!!! its an A-core T'bred and it won't go above 2000Mhz damnit but the 1700+ Bcore high end is on his way and he was tested and stable at aproximitely 2.5Ghz straight out of the box at 2.0 or 2.1 Vcore dont recall exactly!!!
so lets hope this adventure ends well LoL!!

no offence, but the 8RDA+ just feels cheap! The results are impressive (managed to squeeze 2.46 GHz benchable out of my 2100+ on air), but this board certainly doesnt get my vote...
all my hopes rest on NF7-S rev 1.2 now

Hopes exactly!!
For now the Epox managed to get you high, benchable over-clocks right!?!?
I hope the new rev. is also great, but for now I'm using the 8RDA+ and can't complain one bit...
It's like OPP said once, doesn't matter what model, rev., manufacturer, chipset, etc... What matters is what's on top at the current moment in time. I agree with that statement.:toast:

I have no problems with running my 8RDA+ stable. It runs 100% stable both in Prime and for everyday use.

Hey blockhe,
Pull the jumper off of your 8RDA+ that is located by the ATX power connection on the motherboard. I can pretty much guarantee that it will do 200+ stable if you try that. My friend had a similar problem and that resolved it. It has to do with the 333 FSB CPU's like the 2600+, 2700+, etc... :D
As you can see, I'm running 215FSB stable as this is my everyday PC, not just for benchmarks...

My vote goes for the 8RDA+ as it's a fantastic board, and mine runs 24/7 and doesn't crash at all.

Alright....I'm changing my tune now (hey...can he do that?)
My vote is now for the Abit NF7 rev1.2. I have it looping 3DMark at 220mhz now. Ran overnight.
I had some teething issues, but it boiled down to needing to cut the L12 bridge on my XP 2700. Once I did that everything has been great. Took me from 204 3D to 220 3D...rock solid.
And this is with zero mods to the board:D

I'm considering the NF7-S version 1.2 as my next board too.
So I suppose I recommend both the NF7-S(V1.2) and 8RDA+.

As i have good experiences with choosing the same boards as Mike before (KD7-E), im also getting the NF7-S 1.2! Now i just need to send this NF7-S 1.0 back to swap it :D
Epox 8RDA+ gets my vote! Very fast very stable board.

Gulp...that's a heavy responsibility you've put on me;)
Naaa...it's a good move. I'm not as near of an extreme OCer as many are on this site. I just don't have the time in my life to do every mod or trick. So I tend to beleive that if a simpleton like me can get good results, then it must be a great board and that you extreme guys will really make it rock and roll:D
