Found my old PIII 700 laying around in a pile of dust, so i thought why not krank it up and run some voltage through it :D so i put it in my old asus cuv4x mobo and strated rising the fsb, i reached 882 MHz at stock voltage, so i started rising the voltage, at 1.95 V i hit the roof of the cpu at 1008 MHz (tried 2.0 V but no increase) This oc is on air, with a stock hsf and a 6 cm fan...

The cpu is 100% stable can't run 3dmark though, cause of no vidcard... been running prime for 4+ hours now

Hmm, a P3 600 with a 7x multiplier ? Seems like you made a typo dude ;)

PIII 600e at 1058Mhz top stable in 3dmark and all with a 72W pelt and Alpha P3125 heatsink :)
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=1380191
tops at 1010Mhz without the pelt

all done at 1.85V

because i Voodoo|Minion use a PIII 600e whereas Kosmos uses a PIII 700e

get a pelt like me and then you should be able to run 3dmark no problemo !
Like it says above.. sorry :\
I had a 700mhz slot 1 p3 at 1150 using a mini fridge to chill my water. I ended up killing that cpu a few months later after I ran into some condensation problems but it was nice at the time.

A little too much hardocp perhaps?
OMG You absolute ****! He made a wrong thread about a 600e cpu while he actually had a 700e cpu... I for one posted pics of my 600e .... THERE ARE TWO CPUs involved one 600e and one 700e

The problem isn't temps, i would be able to run 3dmark if i had a vidcard... im using a pci card... but i will change mobo in my main rig within a few days and then i will get a spare 169W pelt, which can come in handy :D
Gonna bench some 3d then with a ti200 card!
And RuKK get a grip of the situation, im using a 700e which have a multiplier of 7 while Voodoo uses a 600e, which got 6 as multi...
bus speed is 100MHz
Sorry :\
Apparently my browser dident refresh correctly before my second post or something, because I dident see you post. Dont know why I assumed there was only one person posting WCPUID screens without looking at the names too closely. Sorry again guys.

Those chips can overclock really well. My first overclock was with a p3 600. I did'nt know anything about overclocking at the time, but read from somewhere that you can just raise the fsb on your motherboard, and you are running.
So I raised the fsb from 100 to 150, and it was working fine at 900mhz. I left it at that, and had it stable for a couple of months before upgrading my computer. It was truely an amazing chip, did'nt even have to raise the voltage! I guess I should'nt have sold it, but what's done is done...

RuKK it's alrite
Booted into windows at 1085MHz, but not stable enough to run wcpuid and save screen... (with open windows, it's -25 C outside in northern parts of sweden today so the room temps was LOW) gonna put the mobo outside the window and try booting with win 98 instead of 2k
