Alright, getting ready to set up my stuff. I mounted my rad and got everything set up but I need to know which is the inlet and which is the outlet on a 50z pump :slap: Thanks

In is horizontal ->, out is vertical ^, just like the picture shows! That's a great pump. RU going to run it with a 13.8V power supply?

Lol, i dont believe that there arent any markers, specifying the same :P.

Its a centrifugal pump, should be pretty straightforward...

LOL indeed. Your question is so BASIC that I wonder if you should be playing with watercooling.... :nono:

It's an honest question that isn't written anywhere. He knows what pump to buy, I'm sure he'll do fine.

You sure about that? One wrong assumption and he would have cooked his system.

Uhhh... it woulda got hot but it would shut itself down.

Asking which is the inlet and which is the outlet is like asking which side of the match to strike. Some people are better off not playing with fire.

Feel better about yourself now :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::b anana:? Not like I study pumps or keep them around my house :stick:  How the hell am I supposed to know when it's not written ANYWHERE?

Oh and BTW I really doubt I would have cooked it if I put it the wrong way, since I would notice it was messed up during the leak test.

Anyway thanks to everyone who helped, I now have it all hooked up (pump-rad-gpu-cpu-tline-pump). Now to buy some zipties while i'm in NY for the weekend :woot:or just wait until i get home :stick:

Study pumps? Its not as if you asked how to build one! There's nothing geeky about knowing about the basic concept of a pump. See the inlet...water gets SUCKED in there, pump impeller spins roundy-roundy-roundy-round (technical for you) and "flings" the water to the outer wall where it leave the outlet at a higher pressure with kenetic energy imparted to the fluid mass.

if you intend to use zip ties to keep the tubings on the barbs id reccomend those worm drive clamps you can pick up at hardware stores dirt cheap or plumbing stores

and dont judge us by FCG, he has a stick up his ass dont mind him...

I was going to use the worm clamps but I'm too lazy to pull off all the tubing to put them on.. are they that much safer than zip ties? If I get leaks I guess I'll answer that myself :toast:

And yeah I can tell that about FCG.. I know how a car engine works but not a simple pump because I've never used one, so automatically apparently I don't know what I'm doing in life. What a :banana::banana::banana: :)

edit: Well I'm off to NY, thanks for the help guys and :banana::banana::banana: you freecableguy :toast:

Jesus is there any need for the high and mighty aproach freecableguy?
The guy asked a simple question.

Sorta reminds me of Jurassic Park. The scientists knew they could make a dinosaur, but they didn't know anything about them or how they functioned. End result, a bunch of people got their intestines ripped out.

There is something to be said for at least having some BASIC knowledge of how something works before you expect it to automagically do a job for you.

I would reccomend the stainless steal worm-drive clamps. You wouldn't have to remove your tubing to install them. Just unscrew them & then put them around each fitting, & then screw them back together.
