HI
I just started running DC for XS in the form of rosetta and i think dimes :p: . Anyways i used to fold for a different team but otherwise im a complete noob to DC projects. ATM i have just got my XP 2600 @ 2300mhz running as i have a problem with my internet and router connection. The problem is this, i have AOL but can only have the net connected to one computer at a time, i have tryed signing in on different names on each computer but still no joy (can you see my noobness shining through  ) my router is Belkin other than saying its new and expensive i cant see a model number on it :stick: . If i solve my router and internet connection problems i should be able to piece together a small farm and make a greater contribution. Any help will be much appreciated and i am glad to be part of the XS team :D.
p.s. thanks for the pm Movieman, first one ever :woot:

You simply select LBM as your subteam ...... nah j/k. Go it alone for a bit and then see what happens!

First :welcome: to XS/Rosetta!!!:woot: :toast:
Now some questions (Gotta start somewhere)
1. Is this a wireless or wired router / network?
2. Router should allow you to have multiple connections to it and they should 'see' each other.
3. Are all your computers part of a workgroup?
4. Dialup or Broadband to the outside world?
5. Still got the manual / box () or check teh back/bottom for a model #
PM me w/ that for starters and we'll start working on this after I get home and during the weekend :D
Bet once you can get 2 PCs talking to each other and the outside world, the rest will be MUCH easier.

I had a similar problem sharing comps over my router. 2 wired and 1 wireless. My ISP wants to register all their mac addresses with their software. I simply stopped using their software connected a router with wireless PC and registered the internet that way. Then I connected the wired ones to my router and boom internet on all 3. Now if I ran the connect software on any of the wired ones .... id get a dumb activation notice.

Since first getting broadband cable here in Las Vegas about 6 years ago, I have since moved 5 times (finally to a house that I own, no more moving:clap: ). And each time the Cox guy comes out to merely 'flip the switch', I get handed software that 'must' be installed... never once have I installed any of their cr@ptacular software and the net always works for me.
SIDE NOTE: Does anyone know of a consumer grade router that handles Jumbo Frames on the LAN side and converts them to standard MTUs on the WAN side?

Then you'll be getting one Mike's Famous PMs. Personally, I enjoy them, because they give me alot to read. :D From what I've heard, Heater doesn't enjoy readin as much as I do. ;)

Thats the worst part about his pm's. They are always like 2 1/2 pgs when I get them, then I figure that half of it was smilies. I always have a head-ache after reading them.

Think of it as Mad MikeE's version of a Krell mind expansion (and if you don't know it look it up ;))
