i was too excited to exactly memorize the stepping, but i do believe i just stuck in a JIUHB 0302 1700+ tbred, and im sad to say i have hit a rock and cannot go any further. why you ask? well it sure isnt cause of the chip, its my ram. my pc2700 wont do much over 185fsb, and my multiplier is maxed at 12.5

so here i am running 185x12.5 = 2318 mhz, almost a 100% overclock and im happy as can be but also mad that my silly ram is holding me back. i want to see the full potential of my chip :(

so what do i do guys, how can i go higher without buying bajillion dollar ram (*note i have corsair xms pc2700*)

Tried upping your ram's voltage? Just burn it with F@H, Prime95, 3dmark, SETI or whatever else you have for 48 hours before pronouncing it. If your sure your ram's the bottleneck, try relaxing timings. 2.5-3-3-7-1 or so should get you very close to 200 fsb.

Depends on your coolinig.. Its a good overclock for air. My friend got the exact same chip and is at 2.3 with corsair xmspc3200, a abit kd7 and a vapochill.

i use a rather crappy custom watercooling (mainly cause of 3/8 tubing+bad block) but im changing that by the end of the month. so, mild watercooling+2.0v=2.3ghz from 1.46ghz :D

but im still burning in and im hopeing i can get more out of my ram :p

Film and RuKK, Welcome to Xtreme:cool:

After a good burnin session, try relaxing your timings on your ram, raising the voltage to the ram, and lowering your multiplier a little more. Post the rest of your system and maybe one of us can help, maybe not;) Does sound like it's too early to pass a ruling though:cool:

okay ive found the weirdest problem ive ever encountered... and i think i know why but im still asking. i have come to find out that when i hit my desk semi-hard.. enough to hear it.. my comp will freeze? i know it sounds odd but my guess is that the hd is skipping or something? could this be cause of high fsbs or what?

i have both my hds on the raid channels (non-aray though) cause ive heard it deals with high fsb better, but this is rather odd how it freezes when i hit my desk.

anyone got a solution or...explanation?
