Is this a bios flash or something?

Its "Performance Edition (or something)" wich was released from some vendors last years, it was cancelled before it even got into stores because it was too close to the release of the X1900 series.

Since its basically the same card as the X1800XT, you can easily flash your card if it can handle the clocks and has the same mem.

Oh cool. I was wondering why I was hearing "pe" but never have seen anything other than comments.

Platinum Edition, and it's boosted clocks with loose mem timings. Never released as LenniZ said.

Some made it to OCUK and were sent back as they were unstable, go figure.

In my case the bios flash has worked out well. I have had the card since December and flashed it within a few days of getting it. After the flash using the 3D clocks and overclocker tool I can get 750 core with no voltage increase. I leave both ati2 running so the card can go into 3D mode and of course turn the fan on 100%. I only bench somtimes and mostly game and surf the net. That is why I like the bios flash so much is the card only goes 3D when you run a game. The rest of the time it is running nice and cool with the lower voltage. The card will cool down when changing maps and such.
