After some overclocking last night, Rosetta stopped working. I've restartd, i've reinstalled, nothing.

Everytime i open BOINC manager, it immediately grays out my options and say
"BOINC Manager is not able to connect to a BOINC client. Would you like to try to connect again?"
Yes/No

Yes - it pauses for 2 seconds and then the same message pops back up
No - message goes away and everything in BOINC manager is grayed out or empty.

Any ideas?

Reinstalling didn't work, that's why i'm confused. And i'm not about to reformat...

Same thing happened to me. I tried everything and it would not connect. What I ended up doing as a cheap fix (probably not the best/only fix) was reinstall BOINC as a service.

Any ideas from anyone else would be great as I would like to know a better fix myself.

Rosetta has been frustrating me as well. I always have to do things manually to get things going. I'm thinking about taking my handful of systems and moving them to F@H or FaD.

I have gotten mine to work with BOINCview and not relied on BOINCmanager for anything....

Sorry to hear that, Conrad.

Anyway, FaD no longer exists.

Absolute.. go into the program files of BOINC and run teh cmd version of BOINC

then open manager and try to connect manually to Localhost

or hit me up on AIM if you cant get it working still i had the same problem.. also once you do that a restart fixes the problem usually

I get that every once in a while (service installs) and I just stop, then start the service again (including boincmgr), took 3 times last nite after I was trying to get some POS UCCC to work (failed). Then I go back to boincview and everything is fine

reboot fixed it for me the only time i've had it.

The problem is boingmgr not starting up boinc.exe.

if a reboot does not help, you may need to run boinc.exe, then run boincmgr, then shut both off, then reboot...
