the original CoD (havent played expansion) on PC was one of the most thrilling and encapsulating single player experiences ive ever... experienced.

i really want to get COD2, but after playing it on xbox360, im having second doubts, so if any of you have played COD2 on PC. please let me know what you think. im very interested to see how it compares to the original

thanks

its excellent, have played it on x360 and the only good thing was multiplayer. But on pc as you say both games are just encapsulating, the kinda game you play through the night just to see what happens.

Much better mission development, much better A.I., graphics are richer, its like CoD on steroids. One of my '05 favourites! A must have :)

Nice game, bit easy as you can't really die, increasing difficulty level is recommended from the start or its too easy, nice cinematic experience rather than a challenging game.

I hated it, to death.

I love COD, and the expansion UO. Ive played through the SP campaigns at least 5 times each, and over 150hours of MP just on UO.

I bought COD2, when it came out and i was horrified what they had done with it.

The performance of the game was pathetic, i could barely run 1280x1024, let alone 1600x1200. The weapons had a really lame, weak feel to them, and were way inferior to the original. There was talk of how smoke grenedes were well done, but they were no better than the original. They butchered the MP, with no ranking system, like UO, and basically i hated the whole game and sold it after trying to like it for about 4 hours.

But hey, you might like it.:)

what he said. borrowed it off a friend to see if it was any good. installed it,
then fired it up once, got to play about 2 minutes of the training crap,
played around with the settings, performance didn't improve -> uninstall
and return to my friend.

POS!

also from what little i could see, i didn't find the graphics that awesome.
yes, i have screenshots that seemed quite ok, but then there's other
games that also have mucho graphical bling bling like fear or whatnot
and they do run a hell of a lot better than this.

obviously i can't say anything about gameplay though ;)

/edit
and i did love the first cod and the expansion/update united offensive

I never wasted my time with single player but the MP is killer :D

not bad.. had no problems with the GFX or performance...this is on SLi'd 7800GTX's

but the actual game is just CoD with some minor tweaks.. theres only so much you can do in WWII.

and That MG42 is a real bugger.. that gets real annoying after a while

i decided to wait until the price drops. the whole health scheme really puts a damper on it, and its hard to say no to COD and UO for 30 bucks
