I've been leaning towards the x1800...but serveral people on HardOCP beleive the 7900 will be a better buy because of the lifetime warranty...the OEM x1800 has NO warranty....

the x1800xt has high qual AA and HDR+AA...
I can't decide:stick:

Benchmarks or OpenGL games?

Well, I play a lot of games...not much Q4 though (only OGL game I can think of besides D3)...

Hmm...I DO want to break 10k in 05 with whatever card I get...:stick:

7900 = Better warranty, beter and easier OCing, I think more performance as well. Thats what I would get.

7900gt all the way, people are breaking 10k with it on stock cooling...

Don't forget about the upcoming QuakeWars(www.enemyterritory.com), that's looking to slap around Battlefield 2 and become the number 1 "war" game around.

As for high quality AA, umm... 7900's have supersampling AA, something ATi cards don't have.

lol too bad 8xSS completely kills the FPS, and 6xAA from ATI looks just as good.

I think you mean the X1800XT has higher quality AF.

Unfortunately, I would also go with 7900GT... See? I'm not biased ;)

I got a 7900GT, i think it's the one to get. Good clockin', good gamin', runs cool, full warrantee. One of my biggest quirks is i have a bias towards nVidia drivers though, can't stand ATi's drivers.

If 10K in 05 means a lot though, i think teh X1800XT has an edge for benching, mainly in 05. 06 is a different story IIRC...

7 series allows for SS at 4x as well, not just 8x.

I'm getting the x1800 as soon as it's back in stock:)
