Just wonderin if anyone still plays it. I found my old SC Brood War disc and I am adicted to star craft again, lol.

I know, only thing is I think Blizzard as basically stop supporting it, cheating is a bigger problem then it used to be.

Starcraft is one of (if not the) best games ever made!

I go from playing it constantly for 2 or 3 months to not playing it for another 2 to 3 months. Right now in the dry spell, but does sound like fun... lol Might haveta install it again and go at it.

Ive played that game a few times, where, being so bored, and tired of the actual game at the time, I completely filled the screen with patrolling Overlords, literally. Ive also played protoss once, played 7 computers, ended up taking over each race, so I controlled the terrans, zerg and protoss. Built them up completely and had everything for every race completely upgraded.
Granted, by that point, 1 nuke from the terrans knocked out the last of the opposition. LoL

I hope sometime in the future when they find out that Diablo 3 is a big hit they decide to make a Starcraft 2...

Well from everything Ive heard/read they are actually making a SC3. However, it is NOT a RTS game. I think it is more like tomb raider style games. :rolleyes:
IMO, taking a killer games name and turning it into something it is not, and again IMO, killing the game and its name.

Truly lame. RTS Labeled games should stay that, RTS. If they want to create another game with some of the same storyline/plot, do so, but dont ruin the friggin game. I want RTS! NOT FPS!

I play it sporadically and when I do... I get really in to it. My favorite number one game of all time. The one I've spent most time in-front of. Gotta love it! :)

I mostly play UMS though, since I've lost all my "Melee" skills, however after a while you've played every type of map imaginable, and those aren't too many due to the poor trigger system that will not allow for too much creativity (this was improved A LOT in WC3 though) so then you get bored. If they'd only made the WC3 trigger system for StarCraft then there'd be no reason to play anything else. :p:

NOT FPS!No, that is StarCraft: Ghost. It is not StarCraft 2 nor 3. Think of it more as a World of Starcraft, without being massive-multiplayer or RPG (rather FPS). And I'm not against it, it's simply another game enacted in the StarCraft Universe (just like with many other game worlds).

The reason there's not a StarCraft 2 (yet) is the dev team that made StarCraft what it is are all gone. And they don't want to risk making a sequel that doesn't live up to the fan's sky-high expectations!

That is true krille. However, every time someone from blizzard has given an interview out and they have been asked about any chance for a 'new starcraft', every single time they mention sc ghost.
So, with Blizzard doing that, tells me they are labeling it as a follow-up to brood wars.
Which, IMO, is a lame and pathetic attempt to get cash from a game they wont update/new version.

So, I do understand your point, but, when they call it that, it is them who do the game injustice, not us.

Same thing happened with Warcraft1+2, great games, then Blizzard's sewer backed up and spouted warcraft3 + world of warcraft.

All I wanted was an RTS with Juggernauts. Is that too much to ask?

It is one of the few games I could say that they would be one of the games that I would buy without hesitation.

Agreed, I sent blizzard an email a while back and asked if they had any plans for a StarCraft 2, and they said possibly.

Starcraft joined the ranks of franchises like Duke Nukem and and Freespace that had overwhelming demand yet were discontinued nonetheless.

In today's age when long running franchises are the only games (at least on the pc) that foster trust in gamers for a worthwhile experience, that was a truly big mistake on the part of those developers.

Does anybody actually know what resolution the game is using?? was it 640x480 or 320x200?? can't remember...
I still play it a lot over LAN with my neighbors and brothers.. fun as hell :D

TA and SC were on the same level, BUT im waiting for the new "TA" released at the end of the year / early 07, can't remember the damn name right now but its made by the same guy that made TA.

Supreme Commander. Was meant to come out in June apparently but was pushed back. Screens look excellent though hope it live up to TA.
