Hi guys,
I would post this on the ddo.com forums but can't seem to register there, so if anyone can answer this it'd be great. I heard that DDO has a memory leak in it that causes it to slow down and eventually crash. Is this true and if so, are the devs working to fix this within the next few patches? Thanks a ton in advance.

dungeons and draggon online? Piss poor MMORPG imo, its a very buggy game so the best thing to do is sit on your hands and wait for a patch. You want to make sure that indeed it is DDO thats causing the memory leak by closing all other non esential apps through task manager and task bar. You can also grab some free apps from places like majorgeeks.com and download.com that will clear you memory when you reach critical levels of useage.

I don't have a memory leak(that I know of). I just heard that DDO currently has one that causes it to crash after a while, the higher the graphics the sooner. So, I was just seeing if anyone knew about them fixing it.
As for it being a poor game... I'm going to have to disagree. I played it in beta and it was awesome. It is extremely buggy, moreso than most mmorpgs when new, but nonetheless, when they've worked out all the big bugs, its going to be amazing. Plus, maxed out graphics with the very high res textures looks A-MAZE-ING. :slobber:

I've been waiting FOREVER but the devs don't seem to care that THEY have screwed up and that there are tons of very serious bugs(many, many people can't even get it up and running).
What are your specs? Also, any good tweaks to make sure it runs?

My rig is
3400+NC 754 @2.7ghz
1.5gb RAM
800xl@450/575
DFI 250gb

Me and my friends havent had any probs at all yet besides trying to find each other sometimes lol. Im using no tweaks at all and Im on a very very dirty OS that needs to be reinstalled too.

If you do get DDO look up Twigzz Slapahoe and Fatb.:fact:

I don't have a problem at all on default settings, I do suspect a small leak though...Noticing people rebooting the client alot to fix "Lag"...

hey yeah, my friend gave me 10day fre pass to it. I DO have a memory leak, after 2hrs or so my ram consumption will skyrocket from 110mb for the game to over 520mb, the game at that point becomes unplayable even with my system specs, hangs and chugs all over.

The game DOES look very good, I'll give you that. My barbarian is lv4. I still have the same if not greater complaints about the game. Every dungeon is just a square room after a square room full of boxes that contain random loot. Im not sure why the creators made it that depending the weapon, depending the amount of durability hit it takes, this just forces you to have one weapon of every type stashed away and giving up on some loot items further down the game. The game also lacks a shouting channel so you can sell your wares and what not.

Money is a bit wierd, you can have 1PP and 5000GP, yet 5000GP means 500PP. The most annoying 'feature' is missing about 300 swings before landing one, nothing more annoying seeing a mob 2 CR above our level and the only thing we here from 3 melee's is swoosh swoosh swoosh swoosh (missing). It seems that melee is just nerfed way beyond anything usefull, my cleric friend gets to use a shield and heavy armor from the get go, I mean common im a friggen barb and I had to use my talent point to use heavy armor!

I still like it, but I probably WONT be buying it, at least anytime soon. The level 10 cap makes the game way too short, there isn't much more to do after you ding it out.
