Is the 6/23 beta bios the best? Links? Thanks:)

Hey rice, were you able to get a board @ dfi-street? or did you just go over to Microcenter and pick one up?

Anyways, it's debateable on which bios is the best. Since you're using the E6 Venice however, the 6/23 is more than likely the bios that's most aimed for that chip. It should also recognize the chip by it's name at boot up, instead of "Unknown AMD Class Processor".

imo 6/23 (which is what i'm using) is a very spectacular bios but since all hardware is different, even with the same name your milage may vary. good luck

I just installed the 6/23/05 bios. I was previously running the 10/05/04 beta. With the 6/23/05, the io performance is significantly slower (about 1/10 as fast as 10/5/04 bios) in DOS base apps -- e.g. using Ghost to do image copies between IDE, USB 2.0, and the SATA RAID storage. Anyone else notice this?
