Hey Guys
Long time no see

Today I passed by my hardware retailer, (long time since I've been there as well ;) ) and noticed he had one FX60 in stock and I had it put on lay-away for me ...
It's been almost 2 years that the OC virus had been dormant, but with a slightly raised bankaccount it's back in full force :D

Now unfortunately I'm totally out of date on this whole FX overclocking story.
I'm reading a lot about a Cold bug with almost every FX60 out there
Any idea's how this one would do with extreme cooling:
Athlon 64 FX
ADAFX60DAA6CD
CCB2E 0607TPAW
1419172B60412

From what I can tell this is a pretty recent model.
Any info on the coldbug on this model/stepping?
I can't find much (if anything) about it besides it being a B2 model which supposedly isn't to good.

The plan is to have it cooled by a Prommy that I still have lying around here, after I get my hands on a S939 mounting kit. So temperature is going to be an issue :(

The solution that I can tell, from what I've read here, is just upping the multiplier and keeping HTT low.
The only thing that frightens me is that i read a lot about FX60 not even booting @stock setting under a vapochill or prommy.
How is this possible if the coldbug problem lies in the high HTT ?

Any input is greatly appreciated
And thanks for helping an old fellow XS'r out

thunderstruck!

Same stepping as all the others. Will perform the same in terms of cold.

Well - if i'm correct the colder the CPU gets the lower the HTT has to be. So, on certain CPU's, if its SO cold that even 200mhz HTT is too much it won't boot at stock. From what i've seen FX60's have major cold bug...hopefully the prommy won't be too much for it though - let us know how you make out. :)

I would skip that CPU and it's cold bug and go for a Conroe in a few months, for a lot less money then an FX-60 or 62 and get better performance in benchmarks and gaming at only stock speeds (I can't even imagine the performance when OC'd :bows: ) just my opinion man...
