What are your computer specs? Do you have a power running to the PCI-Express card via a 6-pin dongle? Tried both PCI-Express Slots? ect?

tried 3 diff cards in both slots each
2 cards don't require additonal power, other does and was plugged in
ps is a rosewill 500+W unit that's worked fine in other builds.

the PS is fine!
I have about 12 computers/test stations and needed some cheap PS's. On recommendation from charlie got 2 of these. They work fine, and have held 3ghz A64's fine and or 2.8ghz X2's. Right now it's possible it's a low 12v rail or something but I doubt it. Thinking just a bad board. I have another replacement coming and will post updates.

Off Topic:
I bought ten Rosewell 300's for low-end builds. I still have 3 of them sitting on the shelf as five out of seven failed within 2 weeks. The next two failed in less than 30 days. Of course this certainly has no impact on your problem and if your 400 worked for you previously, than it must not be the issue... :)

the PCI-E takes a lot more power over the 12 volt rail. What's the amperage on the 12volt rail?

You tried the card in another computer? I had an agp card once that just up and died and with it plugged in the computer wouldnt even turn on. Remove it and it booted just fine and dandy.
Took it to a friends computer and it made the same thing happen to his. Card had just up and died.

JNav,
Have you tried posting with the PCI card and tried both settings for the PCI-e slots (8-4-NC-8 and 2-1-1-16)?
