my second machine is a msi k8 neo4 thats eating bios batterys, one per week.

mother broken, bios in shortcircuit please give me a hand.

psu is new top brand.

Strange... Could you provide any more info? Have you reflashed your bios? have you measured the voltage on the batteries? Checked the pcb for scratches or loose/missing smd's?/bad caps? check all your capisitors see if you can find any bulging at the top.

bios flashing wiht no problem.

no matter wich bios the problem persist.

pcb looks good.

capacitors are ok.

I think that the bios chip is bad, and is the only thing that I can replace and test before throwing the mobo away.


i hope someone has experienced the same problem, but as you said Strange...
