How long will this rig last?

hey guys, at the moment i have a 2.8ghz p4 with 1gig ram and an nvidia 5700 gfx card, but by june i hope to have saved up enough money to be able to buy:

AM2 with compatible top-end mobo
2gig DDR2-800 mem
latest gfx card out then

all i will be doing is playing games on it and just wanted to know how long this rig would last playing the latest games, not necessarily at the highest settings.

also, is it better to have 2x1gig of mem, or 4x512mb...

Umm difficult to speculate about future hardware, but if higher settings is not necessarily, a good 2-3 years! It's all about videocards....

It is better to have 2X1gig, because 4X512 will be run at 2T (well at least for now dunno about AM2).

I'd Say it's alllready out of date. mine is deffinitly out of date but the 6800ultra is still holding somewhat. im holding out for am2 as well which this be here mid year but i think im going to wait until at least december or beginning next yeat for am2 to mature a little. something better allways comes out after the first release of mobo's cpu... etc etc
