The following is the specs for a case that I hope to have completed by late spring/early summer.
Case: Antec SX1200 Have
PSU: Enermax Liberty 620 (modded by http://www.performance-pcs.com ) Ordered
Motherboard: MSI K8N Diamond Plus SLI Ordered
CPU: AMD Opteron 175 CCBWE 0543TPMW Ordered
Graphics Card: 2 x eVGA 7800 GTX KO SLI Have
Sound: Creative Labs SB Audigy 2ZS Have
Memory: 2GB ???? Brand PC4000 (PC3200?) DDR (2 x 1024) TBD
Optical Drive1: Asus 52X CD-R Have
Optical Drive2: Plextor PX-716A DVD+RW Have
HDD: Primary > 1 x WD Raptor 74 Gig SATA, 8Mb Buffer Have Secondary > 2 x HITACHI T7K250 250GB (RAID1?) TBO

You’ll notice that the brand of memory is blank. Corsair XMS was originally picked, but then I “tripped” across G. Skill >> decisions, decisions, etc. Okay G. Skill, but which one? When it comes to memory (just memory?) I can be totally clueless.

I think with the system spec’s gaming can be considered it’s primary function, followed by business apps, web surfing, CADD, and the picture thing (stills & maybe some video).

Do I want to go with the PC4000 or one of the high performance 3200’s? With the MIR, the PC4000 will defiantly assist in “attempt” at keeping the system budget under control (yah – right!).

A good question.. Very common debate between the Blue sticks of the PC-3200 and the black sticks of the PC-4000. Many people go with the black sticks of the PC-4000 and I don't blame them. Your Guarenteed 250FSB with those sticks, vs only Guarenteed 200FSB with the blue ones. Odviously OCing plays in a part to this. Many have reached 290FSB with the black sticks, I haven't seen too many people on the blue sticks due to the money issue and that they are rated at PC-3200. They could probably hit 260FSB without a problem, but beyond that it becomes questionable. I would say go for the black sticks because if you don't get your rated speed at your rated timings, there is always RMAing.

off topic, but have you thought about an X-Fi? ~100

That was my thought on the PC4000 + the MIR helps on the desicison!:D

Already have the other sound card and I'm deaf in one ear anyway(for real), but thanks for the suggestion!

G.skill acounced like 4 days ago they have a new Pc4000 called HV (the black sticks are HZ) DDR500 with 3-3-2-5 timmings. I havent been able to find them yet online nore the prices but if there gonna be near the prices of the HZ 2gb kits id opt for the HV.

Right now tho i belive the Pc4000 HZ has some kinda speciall on newegg $192 but with a $18 rebate.

The Blue sticks (ZX and HX) ZX overclock to like 220-230mhz now adays it seems. The HX seem to do like 240-270mhz (i know its a big range). The other blue sticks are the HV which are Pc4000 using 3-3-2-5 timmings but again i dont know the prices nore how well they overclock cuss there brand new.

The black stick HZ oc to a range of 260-290mhz.

CandymanCan, notice you're running flashed PNY 6800GT. Built a system for a friend that has one of those, how hard is it to flash and what could I (he) expect on stock air ( or upgrad i necessary)?

The MIR at newegg is good until the 16th of March so will have to move soon. While new to this brand, from what I gathered I wouldn't think that HV will be close the the HZ in price. However if the HV comes with blue heatspreaders I might have to "Paris Hilton" and get them just to be color coordinated!

Well i dunno what you could expect each 6800GT is different some overclock really well like mine some dont. I dont suggest you increase the voltage on stock air cooling. The termps rise really high with 1.4v, 1.4 could also kill youre card if youre not carefull. I got 10mhz core increase tho from 450 to 460 using watercooling.

Flashing is easy

2GBHV is around 270~280 but still not sure yet!
GBHZ is still better idea!

That would be nice except I've already ordered the HZ because

.............. GBHZ is still better idea!

If the HV is that much better and not that much more, I may have to hit you up for a "exchange"! ;)
