hey,
so, i have photoshop 6 (academic version for some odd reason), and I am sick of it, and I want PhotoShop CS2, so I was wondering if the upgrade version of CS2 would work with my version?

thanks! I really wanna avoid spending $500+ on a single piece of software.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Upgrade
To install this upgrade successfully, you will need a licensed version of any version of Adobe Photoshop, on the same platform as this purchase.
NOTE:This upgrade does not apply to Adobe Photoshop Elements, Photoshop Album, Photoshop Limited Edition, or PhotoDeluxe licensed users.

So I think you'll be fine.

wow, thats good news!!

any ideas on good places to buy? just in case it doesn't work, I want to be able to send it back!

if its opened, you wont be able to take it back. you can only exchange it for another copy of the same software. alsi, just buy it from adobe, or maybe newegg.

he can pay a much smaller amount than buying it fully with the upgrade version because he already owns PS6
