I need to do some extensive testing for a while but this will get added eventually. It arrives tommorow.

Appears that way. I was hoping for a blue color scheme actually like the reference board but this is cool to. I guess i won't have to change my cables color scheme again.

why is there 1 pci slot? no need for the pci-e slots to be so far due to how the x1800s/1900s intake aire

*whistles* that gap sure does seem excessive, but it's probably for if that additional 1x pcie slot was there. The advantage model has 2 pci slots tho http://www.sapphiretech.com/en/productfiles/142image4.jpg

The advantage is definitely not in the same league as this board lol

How do you put a sound card on the board when the master slot covers up the PCI slot. Not very clever

Onboard sound is good enough when you only use the rig to overclock, ain't it? :)

the space between the 2 pci-e slots is amazing. no problem mounting an evap :D

Looks good....like the color scheme a lot....but why so many auxiliary power connectors? 2 molexs, an 8pin and the 24pin is a lot of power!!

but so you have perfect stable voltages :)

Hell yeh, my thoughts exactly, nearly didnt see 2nd molex due to board being white tho :p:
Looks good, stupid molex and 8pin location tho - suppose its fine for benching tho :slobber:

The amount of space between the two pci-e slots accomodates two dual gpu ati cards in crossfire for Quad GPU Crossfire ;) .

Then maybe they'll match nvidia's dual card efficiency! :p: I kid, I kid.

Ok well the onboard sound is realteks 8.1 azalia HD audio. So A sound card on this board offers little to no benefits. I have the same azalia audio chip on my RX480 board and its incredible for onboard sound. Far better than any of nvidias onboard offereings and offers less cpu usage than any of creatives solutions. As far as an HTPC machine well this isn't it. If your looking for world records and the most stable OC this is the board to use. I dont think even DFI has got a prayer against this mobo as there last one wasn't to great and sapphires version easily beats it hands down in ocing.

Or dual evaps mounted in crossfire :) and maybe dual DI containers .

Arrived yesterday. Waiting on a PSU and hard drive that should be here today. SHould have results tommorow. Just gonna test new x2 3800 in another board that I'm familiar with first to get a comparison of how it does.

Boad looks good, but unfortunately thats not the only thing that matters.

Not too shabby looking ..... assuming that x2 can clock it should put out a heafty ammount.

Still not sure about pics as mine is not quite the same as the retail sapphire has on site(etc its a review sample). IM preety sure its made by sapphire however it only has ATI logos on it. I'm tyring to find the max of my CPU on one of my other sapphire boards atm than gonna swap over to that board. I just want a baseline of what the other board should do and since its new ground for me i figured i'd max the cpu out on something I'm very familiar with first.

It seems my stepping search had paid off ran prime for 5 hours at 2.5 gig now im playing around at 2.7 gig with still only 1.35 volts etc stock voltage.....This chip is a monster. It makes my 3.0 gig phase chip look like poo needing 1.6v for 3.0 and 1.4v for 2.5 gig.

LDBHE 0601 XPMW batch # 60017 and for maxTcase freaks its 67C whereas my other chip is 63C and its a T chip for those who think T loves volts. Currently its on water now at 1.5v passing prime at 10x290. So far scaling is 2.7 @1.35, 2850 @ 1.45, 2.9 @1.50. So its most likely gonna need 1.55 for 3.0 gig but thats on water. Considering LDBHE is a phase chip stepping i had plans to put it at -25 so I'm guessing based on the way its scaling and how my other chip scaled 3.2 24/7 on phase and benchable around 3.4.

nice is that on grounper or manta?
chew*
03-09-2006, 03:12 PM
it does same speed on both revv although the manta holds in a little longer before failing at 3.0 gig. The grouper failed instantly. Of course thats on water. Phase will wake this chip up quite a bit.

that board is purdy...
Why is it I always get the shaft as far as cpu's go man, my first X2 3800 neede 1.55 for 2.7
My good stepping 170 (ccbwe 0550 upmw is having hard time doind 2650 with 1.4 :( fails after 20 mins
Either way show some performance of the new mobo paired with a 3.2 X2 should be nice..
Id love to see Quad 3d performance :)
